Why I enjoyed The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom more than expected

As a seasoned video game critic with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must confess that The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom initially caught me off guard. With its cutesy art style reminiscent of Link’s Awakening, I thought it would be a simple, kid-friendly romp far removed from the brilliance of Breath of the Wild. Boy, was I wrong!

Here are some ways to express:

Due to this, I believed the game would appear quite straightforward, reminiscent of Zelda games, completely suitable for children, and poles apart from the masterful game design of Tears of the Kingdom

Last week, I visited the Nintendo UK headquarters and had the delightful experience of spending several hours testing out their latest game. To my astonishment, I discovered that my initial assumptions were completely off the mark. If you’d like to hear more about my thoughts on the matter, feel free to check out the video above or continue reading below for a written summary!

Here are some suggestions for a natural and effortless experience:

For the very first time in gameplay, Zelda is introduced as a playable character, excluding her appearance in The Wand of Gamelon from 1993 on the Philips CD-i system

In Echoes of Wisdom, Zelda possesses the ability to craft ‘echoes’, which can be described as duplicatable versions of various items ranging from simple wooden stools to adversaries

For instance, you could fashion a makeshift bridge using beds to traverse a wide chasm, much like the connections drawn between this concept and “Tears of the Kingdom”

The game offers various gameplay modes, including stealth missions, puzzles in underground labyrinths, and direct fights. Zelda can summon echoes of past enemies or temporarily use Link’s sword

At one instance during the prelude, we were compelled to confront a shadowy form of Link, which was rather dreamlike! Thankfully, we drew strength from memories of some potent past leaders to outmatch Link with

In this game, there’s a unique twist to the traditional Zelda-style dungeons. Our protagonist encounters a variety of puzzles that must be solved to advance further. At the culmination of each dungeon, a large boss awaits

Besides just creating echoes, Zelda can also utilize her wand to shift items within the area. For instance, she can move a large rock to create a new pathway

Additionally, there’s an expansive open world that encourages exploration beyond the usual paths. Here, you might stumble upon hidden gems such as buried treasures, secret caves, trading posts, or friendly characters

Here are some suggestions for making your language more accessible, easier to understand, and understanding it more easily:

In the style of Tears of the Kingdom, Echoes of Wisdom seems to equip you with the resources needed for game creation – which library asset would you utilize to flee this region or conquer this adversary? Sometimes it reminds me a little of Pikmin, as you dispatch your echoes into combat on your behalf

Here are a few ways to express or exhibit natural and easy-to-understand language:

Here are some ways to express enthusiasm, but the enjoyment is shown in an enthusiasm-filled manner. The enthusiasm-filled manner is particularly enjoyable, but the enjoyable manner is shown in a generally enjoyable way

“What I wished for was some good voice acting, but the music was quite enjoyable as a substitute.”

I am excited about playing the game later this year, gathering more insights and observing how the game progresses over time. Nothing I played so far appeared especially difficult, but I can only imagine there’s much more to come later on

Are you planning to play Echoes of Wisdom once it’s released for Nintendo Switch on the 26th of September? If that’s the case, you can go ahead and pre-order your copy right away!
