Avatar The Last Airbender: Gordon Cormier Shares the Scenes He’s Most Excited To Film

As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the magical world of Avatar: The Last Airbender, I am beyond excited for the live-action series to continue its journey and bring Aang’s tale to its climax. Having binge-watched the original animated series more times than I care to admit, I can confidently say that Gordon Cormier, our beloved Aang, is as passionate about this world as we all are.

The live-action adaptation of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” on Netflix was a huge success, leading many to anticipate its continuation to wrap up Aang and his companions’ struggle against the Fire Nation. Although the initial season of the live-action adaption included some significant moments from the animated series, upcoming seasons two and three will feature crucial battles and character developments. Recently, in an exclusive interview with Gordon Cormier, who portrays Aang on Netflix, we questioned the ardent Avatar fan about which scenes from the original show he’s most eager to film

It’s no surprise that Gordon Cormier adores “Avatar: The Last Airbender”. In fact, before assuming his bending role, he admitted to watching the series an impressive 26 times! Recently at Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia – a popular pop culture event – he confessed to having re-watched the series a few more times since then. His words were, “After viewing it 26 times, you really get a hang of it. But I’ve definitely watched it a couple more times since then.”

Avatar’s Live-Action Future

In discussing the future of the live-action adaptation, Cormier discussed how he can’t wait to welcome Prince Zuko to his team while also excited to have his showdown with the Fire Lord Nation’s ruler, Ozai, “Introducing Zuko into the gang is going to be really dope. The Ozai fight would also be super sick. That’s going to be so cool with all the effects and everything. I think that’s going to look awesome.”

Among the characters in “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” Zuko stands out as being particularly complex. At first, he aims to return to the Fire Nation after his exile, but eventually, he comes to understand that the world is not as simple as he thought. As Zuko becomes part of the group, he undergoes a significant transformation in character, which continues to be one of the most engaging elements of the series even today
