As a lifelong fan of the strange and the unexplained, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming series, Out There: Crimes of the Paranormal. With the Duplass brothers at the helm, I have high hopes that this show will bring a fresh, cinematic approach to paranormal investigations.
Instead of countless TV shows claiming to expose strange events, from ghosts to UFOs to cryptids, often leaving viewers skeptical due to their amateurish feel, the upcoming series Out There: Crimes of the Paranormal, produced by filmmakers Mark and Jay Duplass, adds a touch of authenticity to the stories told. Moreover, it elevates the recollections of bizarre incidents with a more cinematic flair. The series “Out There: Crimes of the Paranormal” offers a deep dive into eight authentic crime cases featuring chilling encounters with the supernatural realm. The series takes us to various towns and cities across North America, where we hear from individuals who witnessed extraordinary, supernatural events that irrevocably altered their lives. For example, a six-year-old boy vanishes in the Smoky Mountains after being taken by a strange ape-like creature. A UFO crash in Long Island triggers an assassination attempt and exposes a vast political conspiracy. An occult coven of Satanic witches is implicated in a decades-old murder in New Jersey. In San Francisco’s Chinatown, lonely ghosts menace the lives of the unmarried. Throughout these narratives and others, “Out There” follows up on new leads and discovers previously unknown evidence, navigating a maze of twists and turns.
