How to play Sabbac in Star Wars Outlaws

In the game of Sabbac, aim for the minimum hand value, which is zero, called Sabbac when you’re dealt two cards – one from the Sand and one from the Blood suit. Your hand total is calculated by taking the difference between the higher and lower card values

In Sabbac, you will need a buy-in which will increase when playing against more experienced players

In this setup, you’ve got four stacks of cards you can pick from. One Sand card and one Blood card are either known or could be random. Each time you draw a card, it will cost you one token

As a film critic, I’d advise you to regularly discard the highest-valued card when possible, as getting closer to zero significantly increases your chances of victory

There are a few special cards to choose from, such as the Imposter and Sylops cards.

In simpler terms, Imposter cards adopt the number rolled on a die at the close of each round. If you have a Sylop card, it will correspond to the value of another card. Having two Sylop cards creates ‘True Sabbac’, which is the strongest hand in this game

If you finish a round with a Sylop card and a numerical card, this is known as ‘Sylop Sabbac’.

Keep an eye on what cards the other players are drawing as it will clue you in on their hand.

If you are happy with your hand, you can pass your turn by selecting ‘Stand’.

If you lose, you will lose any taxed chips. If you get Sabbac, you gain them back.

You are taxed the difference between your two cards. If your hand was a five and four, you would be taxed one token, for instance.

Shift Tokens serve as special action cards that can help you conserve Draw Tokens, return previously used Tokens, or levy a fee on tokens belonging to other players

Shift Tokens can be played by your opponents, too.

You could choose to have Nix secretly glance at other opponents’ cards to gain an edge, but be aware that this action might lead to being discovered, causing others to grow wary. Excessive suspicion can result in a temporary exclusion from the gaming table

As you progress further into the game, you’ll gain access to additional skills and Shift Tokens, which you can then utilize along the way
