The thought of seeing our beloved hero transform into Ultra Instinct is tantalizing, but given the timeline and events unfolding in the series, it seems like a long shot at this point.
In the recently released trailer for “Dragon Ball Daima,” it was revealed that Goku will assume a smaller form in the upcoming anime series, sparking curiosity among fans about his strength in this childlike body. Since Goku transformed into a miniature version due to a plot involving the dragon balls, viewers are left pondering how powerful he’ll be as a kid. Despite being small, Goku can still become a Super Saiyan, which raises questions about other transformations he might employ. With this development, it appears that we should explore if Daima’s interpretation of Goku has the ability to tap into Ultra Instinct
To recap, the Son character gained the ability to access Ultra Instinct through his involvement in the Tournament of Power. He later refined this form during battles against Jiren from Universe 11, Moro the sorcerer, Granolah the bounty hunter, and Gas, the most powerful member of the Heeters. By learning different versions of the ultimate transformation, Goku still has much to learn in order to combat the strongest being in the universe, as hinted at in the final chapter of the Granolah Saga. In a recent development, Frieza has undergone a new transformation called “Black Frieza,” which makes him significantly stronger than both Goku’s Ultra Instinct and Vegeta’s Ultra Ego
Can Daima’s Goku Go Ultra Instinct?
In Dragon Ball Daima’s storyline, it’s quite improbable for Goku to access Ultra Instinct because this transformation occurs later in the timeline, after he and the Z-Fighters have encountered Beerus and Whis, who teach him about transformations like Ultra Instinct and divine powers. At that point in Dragon Ball Super, Goku’s highest known form is Super Saiyan 3, which he used at the beginning of the series while facing Universe Seven’s God of Destruction
At the time this article was penned, there’s no confirmation yet if “Dragon Ball Super” will resume as an anime series. The original series concluded in 2018, but it still has two significant arcs left uncovered: the Moro Arc and the Granolah The Survivor Arc. Given the enduring popularity of this shonen series, it’s likely that we might see the return of Ultra Instinct to the anime adaptation
