As a seasoned film critic with a penchant for British dramas and a soft spot for stories that resonate deeply, I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of “The Split Up”. Having immersed myself in the rich tapestry of The Split seasons 1-3, I can attest to the warmth, humor, and heartbreak they elicited.
Despite the filming of two specials for The Split already being wrapped up, viewers will need to exercise patience as the anticipated spin-off series, The Split Up, will not be aired as soon as initially planned.
The drama “The Split Up” will focus on the Kishan family’s law firm, as their future and heritage are put at risk when a long-hidden family secret from their past surfaces.
It’s clear that the team working on the production, including department heads, consisted of less than ten people when the series faced a delay.
“The show ‘The Split Up’ is being overseen by executive producer Abi Morgan, who also created ‘The Split’. However, it is actually originated from creator and head writer Ursula Rani Sarma. When it was first announced, she expressed her excitement saying, “I have long admired ‘The Split’, and I was thrilled to be asked to develop ‘The Split Up’: a spin-off that introduces a fresh family and setting while preserving the charm, humor, and emotional depth of Abi Morgan’s initial series.”

In the forthcoming two-part series of “The Split,” we’ll see Nicola Walker reprise her role as Hannah. The storyline will focus on Hannah and her loved ones, who come together for a vineyard wedding in the beautiful wine region of Catalonia.
