Wolf Man First Poster and Plot Details Released

As a seasoned gamer who’s navigated countless worlds and faced a myriad of monsters, I must say the new teaser for Wolf Man has me intrigued. With its focus on the human struggle against inner demons, it seems to strike a chord that resonates with my gaming heart. The producer’s comparison to Joaquin Phoenix’s approach to The Joker in DC is an exciting prospect; I can almost hear the haunting cackle of Jack Nicholson echoing through the halls of Arkham Asylum.

Wolf Man has a brand-new poster and description for the Blumhouse horror movie. The tease for Wolf Man centers around the idea of “What if someone you loved became something else?” and the new poster definitely channels that feeling. Looking through your crossed fingers at a green lighted monstrosity definitely fits the bill. This morning also saw Blumhouse debut the teaser for Wolf Man. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, one of the movie producers was questioned about the connection between The Wolf Man and the Dark Universe. Producer Ken Kao compared their treatment of this Universal Monster character to the way Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Phillips are handling The Joker in the DC universe.

In simpler terms, Kao stated that from his perspective, the Dark Universe of “The Mummy” seemed to react to the ongoing trend of superhero movies such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and DC Universe. He also mentioned the recent discussions surrounding these universes in the past year. He suggested that the approach taken by “The Joker” might be more suitable, especially for standalone films like those produced by Blumhouse Productions, which he believes is a better strategy.

What Is The Wolf Man About?

Imagine if someone you deeply care for undergoes a drastic change. The makers of the spine-tingling contemporary monster story “The Invisible Man“, Blumhouse and director Leigh Whannell, bring us a heart-pounding werewolf terror: “Wolf Man“. Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott (known for his roles in “Poor Things” and “It Comes at Night“) plays Blake, a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his secluded childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father disappears and is believed to be dead. With his relationship with his successful wife, Charlotte (Emmy winner Julia Garner from “Ozark” and “Inventing Anna“) on the rocks, Blake convinces Charlotte to take a break from city life and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger (Matlida Firth in films like “Hullraisers” and “Coma“).

However, as the family makes their way to the farmhouse under the cover of night, they’re suddenly set upon by a mysterious beast. In their frantic effort to flee, they barricade themselves inside the house, with the creature circling outside. As the hours pass, Blake exhibits bizarre behavior and undergoes an unsettling transformation, leaving Charlotte to ponder whether the horror within their home poses a greater threat than the danger lurking outside. The movie also features Sam Jaeger (from The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (from The Sojourn Audio Drama) and Benedict Hardie (from The Invisible Man)).

The movie titled “Wolf Man” is helmed by director Leigh Whannell, known for collaborations with Blumhouse on projects like “The Invisible Man,” “Upgrade,” and “Insidious: Chapter 3.” The screenplay is a joint effort between Whannell and Corbett Tuck, as well as Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, who have previously worked together on “Dumb Money.” The production of this film is led by Jason Blum, the founder and CEO of Blumhouse. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Leigh Whannell serve as executive producers for the movie. “Wolf Man” is a collaboration between Blumhouse Productions and Motel Movies.”
