According to Lisa Henson, the artisanal craftsmanship behind Jim Henson’s puppets can’t be replicated using computer-generated imagery (CGI). She argues that while computers can create flawless textures, nothing fabricated in the real world and made with care will ever feel as authentic.

Henson clarified, “You might get a glimpse into the workings, spot a few details, but what you’ll truly appreciate when the resolution isn’t as low are the textures. A computer-generated texture simply cannot match a real one. Once you see how these puppets are crafted, admire their intricate costumes, and notice the minute details, that’s the depth of authenticity that can’t be replicated by CGI.
