Kamen Rider's New Anime Movie Releases Stylish Trailer

As a lifelong anime enthusiast who’s been following Kamen Rider since the 70s, I can’t help but feel a rush of nostalgia with the announcement of the new movie “Fuuto Pi: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull.” The trailer and poster have me counting down the days until November 8th. With its blend of action, mystery, and that signature Kamen Rider flair, this film is shaping up to be an epic adventure.

1971 saw the arrival of one of Japan’s most formidable crime fighters: Kamen Rider. This armored hero has left an indelible mark on pop culture with numerous TV series, movies, manga, and anime adaptations. In his latest adventure, a new anime film set to premiere in Japan on November 8th this autumn, the movie offers a glimpse into “Fuuto Pi: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull”. Brace yourself for “Count Your Sins” as this could be the most thrilling journey yet for our dual-role character who juggles detective work and Kamen Rider duties.

2023 saw me immersed in the latest cinematic adventure of Kamen Rider, titled “Shin Kamen Rider”. Created by the brilliant mind behind “Neon Genesis Evangelion” and “Shin Godzilla”, Hideaki Anno, this movie has been streaming on Amazon Prime. The protagonist was a fearless hero, not shying away from delivering hard-hitting blows. Sadly, it seems we won’t see this version again anytime soon as Anno has chosen to take some time off from the entertainment industry. Yet, I’m confident that Kamen Rider will continue to captivate us across multiple platforms.

At the time this piece was penned, it’s undecided whether “Fuuto Pi” will make its way to North America. Given the series’ popularity, there’s a strong possibility that “Kamen Rider Skull” could storm into the Western market. Regarding the voice actors for the upcoming film, the lineup currently features Yoshimasa Hosoya as Shotaro Hidari, Koki Uchiyama as Phillip, Akira Sekine as Tokime, Mikako Komatsu as Akiko Narumi, Makoto Furukawa as Ryu Terui, and Daisuke Ono as Yukiji Bando.

To stay updated on the plot of Kamen Rider Skull before its upcoming film, you can stream the original anime series on Crunchyroll. Here’s a summary from the streaming platform: In the bustling city of Fuuto, often referred to as the Windy City, menacing beings known as Dopants create chaos by exploiting powerful Gaia Memories. However, there are also champions who harness these memories to combat crime: Shotaro Hidari, a somewhat inexperienced and hesitant private investigator, and his intelligent partner Philip, who is also a PI. When needed, they transform into Kamen Rider W – the revered hero of Fuuto City!
