The Chase star would “love” to star in a James Bond film

As a long-time fan of The Chase and a supporter of Anne Hegerty’s acting career, I am thrilled to see her aiming for the stars – quite literally! Her ambition to join the world of superspies and potentially take on the role of M or even step into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is nothing short of inspiring.

For enthusiasts of The Chase, the level of tension during the game show, now marking its 15th year, is palpable.

In this scenario, the Chasers are uniquely challenged as they engage with four contestants and rapid-fire questions, all the while dealing with Bradley Walsh’s attempts to rattle them.

Indeed, transitioning from the prolonged ITV series into the thrilling realm of super spying seems quite fitting, doesn’t it?

Indeed, that’s correct – Anne Hegerty, also known as ‘The Governess’ on the show, seems to believe so.

Following her first screen appearance as a curious neighbor in the short movie “Exorcising Barry,” which was recently shown at the Genesis Theatre in London, the 66-year-old is now aiming for something far more substantial – the role of James Bond.

During a conversation with BBC Three Counties Radio, Hegerty shared that she enjoys watching action movies, even though she may not excel in performing action scenes herself. Instead, she could imagine herself as the one sitting at the desk, instructing everyone else to leave.

I’m really excited about the possibility of appearing in a future James Bond movie or being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – whatever it might be!

Could it be that The Governess could step into the role of M in upcoming movies? With all the speculation about who might replace James Bond, there’s been little information about who else will join the cast of the spy series. Enter Anne.

The self-declared movie enthusiast doesn’t have overly high standards, instead, she’s eager to diversify her acting roles beyond well-known international series.

She went on to say: “I’ve had a passion for movies ever since I was young, so I’d be perfectly happy with any opportunity related to it.

Hegerty intends to follow the path set by Walsh by joining well-known franchises, having previously played the role of companion Graham O’Brien alongside Walsh in the legendary science fiction show Doctor Who, where he made a significant impact.

We can’t wait to see what’s next – The Vixen as a future Star Wars villain, anyone?
