Marvel Producer: Why the Avengers Don’t Have a Disney+ Show

Marvel Producer: Why the Avengers Don't Have a Disney+ Show

As a long-time Marvel enthusiast who’s spent countless hours poring over comic books and binge-watching movies, I can say with confidence that the prospect of an Avengers series on Disney+ is both exhilarating and daunting. On one hand, imagine the epic battles, witty banter, and heartfelt camaraderie we’d get to witness weekly! On the other, maintaining such a stellar lineup week after week seems like a herculean task even for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes themselves.

One of Marvel Studios’ senior producers, Brad Winderbaum, shared insights on why we haven’t seen the Avengers on Disney+ yet. He emphasized that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes can only assemble for an actual Avengers-scale threat. In an interview with CinemaBlend before the release of ‘Agatha All Along’, Winderbaum discussed the difficulties in gathering heavyweights such as Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Ant-Man, and their allies on a small screen. Finding a storyline that would compel these heroes to stay united throughout an entire series seems challenging, a challenge with which Winderbaum concurs. Check out what else he has to say about bringing the Avengers together in the video below!

Winderbaum stated, “I believe the Avengers are around, and one day, Earth’s strongest heroes needed to unite. In a movie, it’s logical that there’s a significant event that brings them together. On a long-running TV show, however, it could be harder to constantly have ‘one day’ as a recurring theme.

In the Marvel comics, there’s always something amazing happening. He went on to say that while the Avengers frequently come together, only to break up and reform again, this could make for an intriguing narrative arc in a long-form story. However, it would be unusual for a TV show to follow such a repeating pattern of assembly and disassembly.
