Nick Knowles reveals what Strictly Come Dancing is like with newly-introduced chaperones

As a long-time admirer of Strictly Come Dancing and someone who has followed its ups and downs over the years, I must say that this new policy implementation feels like a step in the right direction. The allegations against some of the dancers have cast a shadow on the show’s reputation, but it seems they are taking the necessary steps to ensure a safer and more respectful environment for all involved.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m excited to share that this upcoming season of “Strictly Come Dancing” marks a change in our policy. For the first time, a member of the production team will be present throughout all rehearsals and training sessions, ensuring an even more seamless and engaging viewing experience for us dance fans!

The policy was enacted after receiving numerous concerns regarding the reported conduct of both Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima during their rehearsals.

Pernice refutes accusations about mistreating past dance partners in a manner that’s aggressive or intimidating. On the other hand, Di Prima expressed remorse for the circumstances that caused his exit from the program.

He pointed out that as far as we’re concerned, we’re merely embarking on our adventure at this stage, and therefore, our connection with the team is entirely new to us.

From where I stand, it feels like we’re incredibly well taken care of, especially with regards to our dance partners and management. If we ever need emotional support, there are people available for us to confide in, and we have physiotherapists to ensure our physical well-being.

“So from our point of view, it’s an amazing experience.”

Knowles stated, “For the record, I haven’t directly participated in it before, but it’s crucial that everyone’s voices are heard. It appears that has happened, which to me, looks like a positive outcome.

In a broader context, Knowles expressed feeling both exhilarated and exhausted regarding his time on the show.

He said: “It is the most fabulous experience with the most fabulous people, but it’s also one of the toughest things that I’ve ever tried to do, and I’m literally shattered at the end of every day that we’re doing it.

Over the past six weeks, I’ve been intensely preparing for this, shedding quite a bit of weight and doing a significant amount of running and working out at the gym. My goal has been to lower my heart rate and improve my fitness level.

Although I believed I was somewhat prepared for it, I find myself completely unprepared. If anyone is willing, I could greatly benefit from a foot donation as mine have worn out.

Viewers will discover who Knowles is partnered with among this year’s professional dancers when the premiere episode goes live on September 14th.

The performance will feature a group dance involving all the competitors and their partners, along with a joyful dance to celebrate the return of Amy Dowden to the dance floor.

The opening episode for Strictly Come Dancing in the year 2024 will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday, September 14th, starting at 7:20 PM.
