As a long-time observer of the tumultuous world of Weatherfield, I can’t help but feel a sense of foreboding for Alina and her son. Tyrone’s deceit has a way of coming back to bite him, and if history is any guide, it seems likely that Alina may choose to block his contact as a result. The pain of betrayal runs deep, especially when it involves one’s child, and I fear Tyrone may have just sealed his own fate in this situation.
It seems that Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) tenure may be approaching its end, as fresh pieces of information emerge, coincidentally at a time when his newborn son Frankie is admitted to the hospital, causing great concern for mother Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
Elsewhere, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) drops a bombshell on mum DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).
In the midst of her mourning, Bernie Winter (played by Jane Hazlegrove) refuses to yield in an argument with her son-in-law Billy Mayhew (portrayed by Daniel Brocklebank) concerning their late loved one Paul Foreman (character played by Peter Ash).
Alina Pop, playing Ruxandra Porojnicu, exposes Tyrone Dobbs’ lies, as his mother Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) finds something significant about their granddaughter Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan).
Finally, Daisy Midgeley’s (Charlotte Jordan) relationship hits the rocks as a new story begins for Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), while Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford) becomes an unlikely agony aunt.

1. New evidence could nail Joel Deering as baby Frankie suffers health scare
Lisa and Channique Sterling-Brown, known as Dee-Dee, witness in dismay as Joel delivers a legal document to Alison King’s character, Carla Connor, initiating a lawsuit due to defamation of character.
Later on, Lauren receives a hospital guest with potential to halt Joel permanently, meanwhile Lisa and Dee-Dee scrutinize the security camera recordings from the Bistro van, aiming to discover the company responsible for delivering the drug package intended for abortion to Joel.
After discovering that the documents were acquired from a personal healthcare facility, Lisa decides to contact them for more information. It appears that soon, she will possess the proof necessary to take action against Joel.
Meanwhile, Lauren spends her breakfast time at the café with friend Max Turner (Paddy Bever). However, she soon has to rush back to the hospital after receiving an urgent phone call.
The doctor informs a frightened Lauren that Frankie had a seizure and is being examined with a scan.
Later on, Dee-Dee goes with Lauren to meet a social worker, where it’s clarified that since Lauren is still under investigation for attempting to terminate her pregnancy, she will require supervision. Will Frankie be safe, and will the truth behind Joel eventually surface?
2. Betsy Swain makes a big confession
Betsy calls Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos) to the police station and confesses that she’s committed a serious wrongdoing.
Throughout the week, Betsy finds herself confiding in her boss, Carla, about a serious mistake she’s made.
Stepping into the bustling factory, I find myself caught up in a heart-wrenching tale as Betsy confides in her mother about a secret she’s been harboring. The revelation is so grave that Betsy’s mother urgently advises them to seek help from the authorities at the local police station. It remains unclear what exact transgression Betsy has committed, but it seems certain that this act will carry heavy consequences for the young girl.
Is this connected to her framing Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) for theft?
3. Bernie Winter and Billy Mayhew clash over Paul Foreman’s funeral
As a movie buff, I’m in a state of panic when the Living Aids attempt to grab Paul’s wheelchair and synthesizer, because I haven’t managed to save all his voice messages yet.
Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) stops by and informs Billy that Paul’s remains are now at the mortuary, if he wishes to pay his respects or spend some time with him.
Afterwards, Harriet Bibby (Summer Spellman) encourages Billy to find a middle ground with Bernie regarding Paul’s funeral arrangements. However, if Bernie insists that Paul was not religious, how do you think Billy will respond?
The situation becomes overwhelming for Summer when she arrives at the Winter-Browns’ house with a trash bag containing Paul’s clothes. Upon seeing his favorite shirt taken out by his twin sister Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell), Summer finds it emotionally taxing and quickly leaves.
Can Paul’s family come to a decision about his final journey?
4. Alina Pop discovers Tyrone Dobbs’s deception
As Alina comes to collect Dorin, Tyrone secretly swipes her passport from the pocket of her backpack. Later, Alina finds herself in distress when, upon returning with Dorin, she informs Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) that she was unable to board their flight to Romania due to her passport being misplaced.
The following day, Tyrone and the girls initiate a video chat with Dorin. However, Alina suddenly terminates the call, mentioning that it was distressing for Dorin.
When Fiz admits that she wouldn’t have given back Alina’s passport had she known such an incident would occur, a chill runs through the family as they realize, with dismay, that Alina is still on the line and has overheard their entire conversation.
Will Alina block Tyrone’s contact with their son as a result of his deceit?
5. Cassie Plummer learns Hope Dobbs’s secret
Hope puffs on her electronic cigarette in the school hallway, disregarding the cautions from Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) and Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) about the potential hazards of vaping.
Afterward, Cassie discovers a vape device in Hope’s handbag. Hope pleads with Cassie not to betray her, but will Cassie make the moral choice? Could this mark the beginning of a new problematic chapter in Hope’s life, one that places her squarely in harm’s way?
6. Is Daisy Midgeley pining over Daniel Osbourne as Bethany Platt jets off?
Debbie Webster informs Bethany that a friend of hers holds the position of CEO at a cosmetic surgery firm, and they’re searching for a writer to craft an article promoting their latest Turkish clinic.
In simpler terms, when Bethany refuses Debbie’s proposal, Daniel Osbourne (played by Rob Mallard) encourages her to take the opportunity instead.
Bethany sends Debbie a message confirming she’ll take the job, but her world comes crashing down when she notices her former partners, Daniel and Daisy, embracing. Could there possibly be an harmless reason behind this encounter?
Later, Bethany comes back from an unsuccessful shopping outing, commenting that different swimsuits she tried on seemed to make her appear heavier.
In the meantime, Daisy informs Ryan Connor, who’s feeling down, that she’s caring for little Bertie, as Daniel is taking Bethany to the airport. (Ryan Prescott plays the role of Ryan Connor in this context.)
As the week unfolds, Ryan expresses his desire to spend more quality time with Daisy. He proposes a solution by suggesting they consider the idea of him moving into the pub together, thus resolving their issue.
When it comes to Daisy’s ambiguous feelings, I can’t help but see it as a clear sign that she’s yet to move on from Daniel. Could this be the beginning of the end for her and me, Ryan? As for Bethany, with her self-aware nature, I wonder how she’ll navigate life in Turkey.
7. Tracy McDonald offers Steve McDonald some love advice
As Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), I bid farewell to my kin Ken Barlow (William Roache) and Cassie, as our beloved Tracy prepared to embark on her journey at the airport. It was Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), who graciously offered a ride to Tracy, making her departure a little easier for us all.
Tracy hints to Steve that Cassie seems to have feelings for him, and encourages him to pursue those feelings. Will Steve heed Tracy’s suggestion? Certainly not, as it appears her role in this story isn’t over yet!
