As I sit here, I’m taking another look at Omega after more than four months. Last time we saw each other was on the May 1st edition of AEW Dynamite. He was talking to his hometown Winnipeg crowd, opening up about his condition, revealing a chilling truth – he was just 23 hours away from death. After that, Omega spent ten grueling days in the hospital as doctors grappled with his diverticulitis diagnosis. They warned him that his midsection is like a ticking time bomb, and any physical impact to that area could end his life. Yet, despite the grave risks, Omega made it clear that he’ll explore every possible solution to get back in the ring. He even sent a message to his longtime rival Kazuchika Okada, expressing his intention to reignite our feud if he recovers fully.
In an interview with ComicBook last March, AEW President Tony Khan mentioned that there’s no specific schedule for Kenny Omega’s comeback to AEW, but he remains hopeful that we might see him again in the future.
Khan stated, “I don’t want to hasten his recovery or impose a timeframe, but I’m hopeful that we’ll see Kenny Omega again soon. This is great news for fans, and everyone seems to be quite excited about it. I believe the fans will go wild when Kenny returns, and we’re all eagerly anticipating this event.
