Stray Kids, One of K-pop's Top Groups, Is Ready to Return to Anime

As a seasoned gamer and anime enthusiast with a soft spot for K-Pop, I can hardly contain my excitement as The Stray Kids are making their triumphant return to the world of Tower of God! After four years, these talented musicians will be gracing us with not one, but TWO new songs for the show’s second season.

Although K-Pop doesn’t currently have a show dedicated to its industry, artists within this genre are increasingly collaborating with anime. In the past, we’ve noticed that K-Pop bands have contributed theme songs for popular series like “Black Clover”, “Solo Leveling”, “Fairy Tail”, and “One Piece”. Starting this fall, one of the most prominent K-Pop groups, The Stray Kids, will reappear in the anime series “Tower of God” for its second season, as they did when the band first gained recognition through this show.

Hey there fellow gamers! If you haven’t dived into the world of Tower of God yet, I highly recommend checking it out. The first season and ongoing episodes from season two are streaming on Crunchyroll now. This anime is all about competitors trying to climb a tower that promises the fulfillment of their deepest desires upon reaching its summit. Things have taken an exciting turn in season two as we’re no longer just following Bam, but also introducing a new character, Ja Wangnan, who forms an alliance with Viole along the way. Enjoy the ride!

The Stray Kids’ Anime Comeback

Starting from October 6th, Stray Kids will add two fresh tunes to the second season of “Tower of God.” One is a brand-new opening theme named “TOP,” and the other is a new ending theme called “SLUMP.” These songs will be part of a new storyline called “The Workshop Battle,” which promises to intensify the challenges faced by the tower’s residents.

Tower of God” belongs to a fresh wave of anime that originates from South Korean comics, known as manwha, instead of the traditional Japanese manga. Notably, manwha has made significant strides in the anime industry, with notable titles like “Noblesse”, “Looking”, “The God of High School”, and arguably the most popular one, “Solo Leveling”, contributing to this success.

Stray Kids Comments on The Band’s Anime Return

On the official website for “Tower of God,” it was revealed that K-Pop band Stray Kids are thrilled to contribute their thoughts about producing the fresh opening and ending themes for season two. Here’s what they shared, “Four and a half years after Season 1 of ‘Tower of God,’ we are excited to announce that Stray Kids will be performing the OP/ED tracks again! We feel incredibly privileged to be given this opportunity for a second time. The new songs were specifically crafted with character Bam and others in mind, so they can harmonize within the universe of ‘Tower of God: WORKSHOP BATTLE.’ We hope our music will enhance your enjoyment of ‘Tower of God: WORKSHOP BATTLE.’

For a deeper understanding of the members of the Stray Kids, this popular K-Pop group was formed in 2018. Since their debut, they have made significant strides, earning prestigious awards such as “Top K-Pop Album” at the 2023 BBMAs, “Best K-Pop Band” at the 2023 VMAs, and “Group of The Year” at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards. Additionally, all five of their albums have made it to the top of the Billboard 200 Chart upon release. This anime or non-anime band has undeniably become a key player in the music industry.
