WWE Monday Night Raw Anticipates Ability to “Vary Runtimes” on Netflix

As a lifelong WWE fan who has witnessed countless hours of Raw and SmackDown over the years, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the announcement that WWE Monday Night Raw will return to its two-hour glory in 2024! For too long, fans have been clamoring for a leaner, meaner show, and it seems like the WWE has finally listened.

As a passionate gamer, I’ve been eagerly waiting for this moment for over a decade – the return of my favorite wrestling show, WWE Monday Night Raw, to its original two-hour format! This exciting change was announced during the latest broadcast on USA Network, with the remaining episodes in 2024 set to run from 8-10 PM ET every Monday night.

WWE Raw on Netflix: Will Streamer Keep New Two-Hour Runtime?

Every week of the red brand on the red streaming service may be a director’s cut.

According to the tweet from WrestleVotes insider, WWE is looking forward to having more flexibility in episode lengths when Monday Night Raw moves to Netflix in 2025. It’s unclear if this means the shows will be longer (two or three hours) or if a final decision has been made yet.

With its shift to Netflix, WWE Monday Night Raw will now have the opportunity to explore new creative territories, commonly referred to as runtime freedom. Previously, the show had to abide by a TV-PG rating due to broadcast television regulations and commercial advertisers. However, with Netflix, these constraints are lifted, allowing for more mature themes to be incorporated into WWE Monday Night Raw. While there’s excitement about this newfound liberty, many within WWE are adopting a cautious approach, understanding that just because they can do something, doesn’t necessarily mean they should.

CM Punk from WWE Monday Night Raw expressed his thoughts this summer, stating, “It seems we’re venturing into uncharted territories, and I don’t want people to rely on Netflix as an excuse to use profanity excessively.” He continued, “I believe that if everyone starts using foul language, it loses its impact. If everyone flips off others, it becomes commonplace. If every program features someone getting injured or falling from a great height, it ceases to be remarkable.
