Josh Brolin Turns Down Role Hal Jordan Role in DC's Green Lantern TV Show

As a hardcore comic book fan with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a tinge of disappointment at Josh Brolin’s decision to pass on HBO’s Green Lantern series. The man has proven his mettle as a formidable interpreter of these larger-than-life characters, from Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to Cable in Deadpool 2. I can only imagine how electrifying it would have been to see him bring Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern to life on the small screen.

It turns out that Josh Brolin won’t be appearing as the lead actor in the upcoming Green Lantern series on HBO, despite earlier speculations. Known for bringing comic book characters to life in films like Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2, Brolin has decided not to join this project. With DC aiming to expand its presence on television and in movies, an HBO series focusing on the Green Lanterns has been proposed, with the working title of Lanterns. It seems now that Brolin won’t be part of the cast for this upcoming show.

As per “The Hollywood Reporter”, Josh Brolin declined a part in the upcoming film titled “Lanterns”. Initially, there were plans for Brolin to play Hal Jordan, a role that Ryan Reynolds previously portrayed in the 2011 movie “Green Lantern”, which received mostly negative reviews. The media outlet stated that Brolin was offered the role at the end of August and didn’t make his decision until this past weekend, choosing to pass on it. It appears that Matthew McConaughey, who has also been associated with the series, will not be appearing in “Lanterns” either.

This is a developing story…..
