One Piece Quietly Confirms Theory About Wano's Death Toll

As a seasoned One Piece enthusiast with over two decades of following this epic saga, I must confess that the latest revelations about the Wano Country Saga have left me both stunned and awestruck. The series has always had its fair share of heart-wrenching moments, but the brutal killings we’ve witnessed recently are taking it to a whole new level.

For a long time now, “One Piece” has been a staple in “Shonen Jump”, and it’s rare for something that’s lasted this long not to experience losses along the way. Throughout its history, the series has had its share of deaths – from cold-blooded murders during flashbacks to strategic assassinations that left fans shocked. Lately, “One Piece” seems to be stepping up its game when it comes to fatalities, and a recent update seems to validate a popular fan theory about the number of deaths in Wano.

As a passionate One Piece fan, I’m thrilled to share that fresh insights about our favorite characters such as Shanks and Queen have just been unveiled! This exciting revelation comes from the latest Vivre Card set that’s now available in Japan. This release offers an abundance of new information, particularly on Cipher Pol, and confirms Guernika’s tragic fate at the hands of Kaido.

Well, it seems Kaido has claimed another life during the attack on Onigashima. Let’s make sure this event is duly recorded in our annals!

Who All Died During the Wano Country Saga?

Based on Vivre Cards, Guernika met her end at the hands of Kaido following the Cipher Poll 0 incident. You might recall that the agent was assigned to eliminate Luffy during his fight with Kaido, as the World Government was worried about Luffy’s Devil Fruit activation. However, Guernika managed to inject Luffy with a poison that enraged Kaido, which ultimately led to her death when Kaido killed her for obstructing him. Luckily for us, Luffy wasn’t truly defeated; the awakening of his Devil Fruit revived him, accompanied by Nika.

Indeed, the deaths in this tale were not all alike. Several characters perished before the Onigaishima assault commenced. We witnessed Yasuie’s valiant demise during his trial among his own people. Characters like Ashura, Izo, and Orochi met their end before the Wano saga concluded. Others, such as Zoro, were severely wounded during fights – in his case, against Kaido – but he persevered to engage King. His cursed sword Enma forced Zoro to confront the underworld, a trial of strength which he overcame.

Is Wano Saga the Bloodiest in One Piece?

After the conclusion of the Wano Arc, fans have been working diligently to calculate an accurate death toll, and it has been confirmed that Guernika is among those who perished. Throughout the arc, numerous lives were lost during the prison uprising and the beginning of the Onigaishima raid. Given the immense scale of the events, we know a significant number of background characters met their end as the Kozuki Alliance battled Kaido and Big Mom. The violence depicted in this saga was intense, and it’s not surprising, considering the bloodshed that One Piece has shown us in the past.

At times overlooked, but fundamentally speaking, “One Piece” is quite a violent series. From the Marineford War to the destruction of Ohara, the narrative carries a heavy toll in lives lost. Although the manga mainly focuses on the well-being of its main characters, it’s not uncommon to learn about casualties indirectly within “One Piece”. Characters like Guernika are no exception; it’s almost surprising that Oda and his team acknowledged his death at all.
