The Great British Bake Off 2024 start date confirmed by Channel 4

As a movie critic with a soft spot for reality TV, I must say that the announcement of The Great British Bake Off 2024 has me as excited as a baker who just found out they have unlimited access to flour and sugar! The return of this delightful show brings back memories of cozy evenings spent watching the tented battle of pastries, cakes, and breads.

The Great British Bake Off 2024 has a confirmed start date, as Channel 4 locks in its schedule.

In the upcoming season of our beloved autumn television treat, the captivating baking competition, which consistently spreads warmth, sweetness, and joy, will air for the first time on Channel 4 at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, 24th September.

The dynamic duo, Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding, return with their insightful commentary and humorous banter, as a new group of bakers step up to face the challenges within the famous tent.

Similarly, judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are set to return, providing their honest opinions about this season’s bakers’ creations. However, there were rumors that Prue might be leaving the Bake Off community, causing a bit of alarm among fans.

She debunked those rumours, but did confirm that she would no longer be appearing in the celebrity editions of the show specifically, citing the extended time commitment that they require.

During the entire summer, these recordings are done one after another. Consequently, it begins in April and concludes at the end of August. To be frank, there’s no break or time off during this period,” she commented on This Morning in March.

“So, I’m getting a bit old and there are places I want to go to, and other things I want to do.”

2024 sees the anticipated comeback of Bake Off, hinted at in an engaging animated clip that was broadcast on Channel 4 recently. Director Bonnie Taylor-Forsyth from Nexus Studios aimed to create a “cozy vibe” with “humorous twists,” similar to the show itself.

In the soothing tones of Sammy Davis Jr’s Sweet Gingerbread Man, Channel 4’s Lex Down described an adventure with Noel and Alison as our transformed guides. The aim is to take both young and old, whether you’re a baking enthusiast or not, on a journey where the most that could go wrong is a fallen cake. Indeed, this endeavor lives up to its name, Flour Power!

Don’t miss the first animated short on display, and gear up for the return of Bake Off this month.)

The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 at 8pm on Tuesday 24th September.
