As I eagerly await the arrival of Sophie Baek in Bridgerton’s fourth season, my admiration for Yerin Ha has grown exponentially. The story of this talented actress, who has spent much of her life working as a maid and overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds, mirrors the resilience and determination that her character Sophie exudes.

Among the pleasures of Netflix’s Bridgerton is the addition of fresh talent to the cast with each season, and the newest actor set to grace the Ton is Yerin Ha (known for Halo and Dune: Prophecy), who will portray Sophie Baek in the period drama’s fourth installment.

The intriguing yet complex figure in question has devoted a significant portion of her existence to serving as a housekeeper, catering even to the strictest of masters or mistresses.

However, resourceful Sophie is adept at overcoming her situations, and these circumstances are set to undergo a significant transformation once she dons a disguise to participate in Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball, where she crosses paths with Benedict Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Thompson.

When asked by TUDUM why she was attracted to the role, Ha explained: “She faces challenges right away – things she must continually surmount. This could be a struggle for social standing or concealing her emotions towards Benedict.

But sadly, we won’t get to see Sophie in action until 2026.

Brownell shared with The Hollywood Reporter that we’re striving to expedite the production process of our seasons. However, it’s a lengthy task as each season requires eight months to film, followed by editing, and then they need to be dubbed into various languages.

She continued: “And then writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace – we’re trying to speed up, but somewhere in the range.”

Although it’s not perfect, we’re confident it will pay off in the end, providing ample opportunity for Ha and Thompson to perfect their dance routine.

Thompson stated, “We practiced for our dance routine today,” he added, “I’ve accidentally stepped on Yerin’s feet just once, which is a positive thing.

Ha elaborated by stating that the lessons were “extraordinarily meaningful and deeply exposing,” and that “dancing serves as an extension of their feelings, providing a means for them to establish connections.

Previously, Brownell mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter that “it wasn’t the right time” for Benedict to settle down during season 3.

She mentioned that he’s full of enthusiasm and we thought it would be great for him to embark on a few more journeys before moving forward with his storyline,” she explained.

But the time has finally cometh.
