Marvel's New X-Men Villain Has a Mysterious Connection to Charles Xavier

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of comic book adventures under my belt, I must say that the latest twist in Uncanny X-Men has left me utterly captivated! The revelation of Charles Xavier‘s mysterious love interest, Sarah, taking on a villainous role is nothing short of extraordinary.

The latest antagonist tormenting the X-Men has a past connection with their creator, Professor Charles Xavier. Following the collapse of X, the X-Men are divided, appearing in three main series: “X-Men”, “Uncanny X-Men”, and “Exceptional X-Men”. In the “X-Men” series, Cyclops (Scott Summers) has a clear objective for Marvel’s Mutant Team. On the other hand, the crew of “Uncanny X-Men” are uniting out of necessity. A new group of mutants known as the Outliers are searching for Rogue, Gambit, Wolverine, and Jubilee to aid them, as they are being pursued by a character connected to Professor X.

Issue #2 of “X-Men: Uncanny” is crafted by Gail Simone, David Marquez, Matthew Wilson, and Clayton Cowles. In this installment, the X-Men engage in a battle and subsequently form an alliance with the latest faction, the Outliers. The storyline also delves into flashbacks from Charles Xavier’s past, offering glimpses into his personal journals. During his academic years, Charles encounters a young woman named Sarah who seems to harbor affection for him. Hints of a romantic connection between Charles and Sarah are suggested, as the narrative implies that Sarah predates Moira MacTaggert and Lilandra Neramani in Xavier’s life.

Sarah has previously met Charles, who is often called a “pagan” or “witch boy” by others on campus. Despite this, Charles denies these labels, but Sarah reveals that she herself identifies as a pagan. This could prove significant later on. Later, they share tea and Sarah asks Charles to take off his cap so she can see his head. He’s uncomfortable revealing his bald skull, but Sarah seems to appreciate it and gives him a kiss on the forehead. So, in a roundabout way, Sarah is linked to one of the main antagonists from Uncanny X-Men, as names are sometimes indicative of character traits or connections.

Charles Xavier’s connection to Uncanny X-Men villain revealed

In the debut of Uncanny X-Men, we’ve been introduced to Corina Ellis, who has transformed the X-Mansion into a detention center. The captor of mutants remains unidentified, but someone is apprehending mutants and delivering them to Corina. Among these prisoners is Siryn, and the concluding scene of Uncanny X-Men introduces a girl with deer-like antlers and limbs, who was briefly mentioned in the first issue. Corina calls this unusual figure Sarah, implying that Charles’ girlfriend has now become a mutant captor.

One of the Anomalies refers to Sarah being referred to as ‘The Witch,’ which could potentially become her new alias. The Sarah we initially encountered was a sweet blonde, but now she appears grotesque, with a gray complexion and distorted limbs featuring enlarged hands, fingers, feet, and toes. Two hunters assist her in apprehending mutants. It’s yet to be revealed what events led to Sarah’s metamorphosis or how she started working for Corina Ellis.
