As a gamer who’s seen more movies than I’ve racked up high scores, let me tell you, the “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. The “Like a Prayer” scene was a game-changer, and not just because it brought back the infectious tune to our ears. It was a moment that truly encapsulated the emotional depth and sheer excitement this film offers, making it one of those scenes you can’t help but rewatch again and again.

As a die-hard gamer, I can’t help but feel like I’ve stumbled upon an epic quest behind the scenes of Deadpool & Wolverine. Director Shawn Levy took us on a journey, sharing glimpses of the electrifying “Like a Prayer” recording session. It’s been a while since Madonna’s chart-topper made such a comeback, but this movie has certainly given it new life!

Levy stated, “Many of you have contacted me about Rob Simonsen’s stunning orchestration of Madonna’s #likeaprayer. Here’s a sample of the enchantment created by Heavenly Voices LA. And yes, I captured these videos while shedding tears.

George Cottle, the stunt coordinator, shared with The Official Marvel Podcast that he was blown away by the scale of the Deadpool & Wolverine sequence when he saw the storyboards. Ryan Reynolds had already envisioned many aspects of this scene along with Shawn Levy, but as it came to fruition, they became increasingly thrilled. Cottle explained, “The storyboards I initially saw were mind-blowing.” He added that the challenge of executing something on such a grand scale and coordinating all the intricate pieces was so immense that he had never seen anything quite like it before.

In essence, Cottle stated, “From the start, I had a feeling it was going to be one of those situations… However, when filming a movie with extended single shots like this, once you’ve made the choice for a single take, there’s no turning back. You’re fully dedicating yourself to that single shot.

Over the last several weeks, there has been some revealing behind-the-scenes information about Deadpool and Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds recently discussed the origin of the Deadpool Corps musical number on The Official Marvel Podcast. Since the days of Deadpool 2, he’s had a vision for the Madonna walk, which finally came to fruition. A dream inspired him with the idea of Wolverine and Deadpool preparing to fight, and the concept has since stuck. Now that the movie has enjoyed tremendous success, we can all appreciate the existence of this memorable song that’s now lodged in our minds. You can listen to what the star had to share below!

In a recent interview, Reynolds explained that he couldn’t quite put his finger on what made the scene feel strange to him, likening it to Madonna’s song ‘Like A Prayer’. This tune has stuck in his head since watching Deadpool 2 and the particular sequence in question was not about fighting the Deadpool Corps. As a result, they had to meet with Madonna herself, an experience he described as surreal and almost as if she owned a piece of the movie due to the song’s influence on its creation. The entire film began with that one tune.
