The long-awaited PlayStation 5 Pro has officially been unveiled, but not without stirring some controversy. Priced at $700, this console is set to hit stores in November, but it won’t come with a vertical stand or disc drive right out of the box. Interestingly, sales data from retail sites suggest that many users might opt for the horizontal orientation, as the standalone PS5 disc drive seems to be selling quite well separately.
On Twitter, Wario64 pointed out that the disc drive was listed as the 8th best-seller on Amazon US, but it’s currently out of stock at Best Buy. It has since slipped to the 16th spot on Amazon and remains unavailable through Best Buy. Priced at $79.99, this disc drive debuted alongside the new PS5 Slim model in November 2023.
The enhanced version of PS5, named PS5 Pro, is set to launch on November 7th. This premium model boasts a more powerful GPU than the standard edition, with 60 Compute Units.
