As a dedicated fan of gripping dramas, I find myself utterly intrigued by the upcoming series, “The Wives,” set against the picturesque backdrop of Malta. With a cast led by the exceptionally talented Tamzin Outhwaite, Angela Griffin, and Jo Joyner, this show promises to deliver a summer like no other, as it unravels family secrets that will undoubtedly change their lives forever.
Amidst the charming scenery of Malta, the series “The Wives” introduces us to three women: Tamzin Outhwaite as Sylvie, Angela Griffin as Natasha, and Jo Joyner as Beth. Their lives are about to take a dramatic turn in a summer that will be unlike any other, as long-buried family secrets begin to surface.
According to the summary: “Sylvie Morgan lived a contented married life, Natasha Morgan enjoyed a lavish lifestyle, while Beth Morgan and Annabelle Morgan were inseparable.
From my perspective, though details remain scarce past the plot summary, a glimpse into the opening episode hints at a deeper mystery surrounding Annabelle’s demise. As one of the sisters-in-law, I find myself drawn into detective work when a photograph triggers an unexplainable frenzy within me.
In the video you’ll find at the page’s top, I’m part of a chat among Sylvie (played by Outhwaite), Natasha (Griffin), and Beth Morgan (Joyner). We’re talking about Charlie, Annabelle’s widower, portrayed by Jamie Bamber, and his new companion, Jade (Katie Clarkson-Hill), who bears a striking resemblance to the late Annabelle.
In the video, it’s clear that Jade persuades Charlie to join her in the water, while Beth (Joyner) converses privately with the other ladies about a matter that seems suspicious to her.
Beth points to a photo and remarks, “This is one of Annabelle’s final Instagram posts,” she assures the group. “Notice the red dress? Jade wore that last night, let me tell you, she definitely had it on!
Later on, Beth clarifies that whenever Annabelle and Charlie marked their anniversary, she used to share a picture from her wedding day along with a description of how she first met Charlie.
Though Natasha finds the posts generally pleasant, Sylvie has some reservations – however, it’s not this difference in opinion that’s problematic.
