PS5 System Update is Live, Adds Welcome Hub and Party Share

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say, the latest PS5 software update has truly taken my breath away! The new Welcome Hub is not just a dashboard, it’s a personalized gaming space that caters to my every need. Customizing my background and widgets feels like decorating my very own virtual den.

An upgrade for the system software on PlayStation 5 has been released, transforming the Explore tab on the Dashboard into the Welcome Hub. Initially accessible to specific players in the United States, it will soon become active in Japan, certain countries, and Europe, eventually rolling out globally.

In simpler terms, the latest update offers you the flexibility to personalize your Home screen’s backdrop while also incorporating widgets for features like console storage, accessory battery levels, Trophies, and additional options. You can adjust the size and position of these widgets as per your preference. Furthermore, within the coming weeks, Party Share will be accessible to everyone. This feature enables you to distribute links for joining party voice chat on your console via messaging apps and social media platforms.

For beta testers, they now have the opportunity to trial personalized 3D audio settings for headphones and earbuds, personal Remote Play options, and adaptive charging for DualSense controllers (and other accessories) on both the PS5 Slim and the forthcoming PS5 Pro. Keep an eye out for announcements regarding when these features will go live on servers in the upcoming months.
