Harlan Coben reveals why he doesn’t do season 2 of his hit shows

As a seasoned movie critic with over three decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of mysteries and thrillers. Harlan Coben has consistently proven himself to be a master storyteller, keeping me on the edge of my seat with each new adaptation that graces our screens.

One consistent trait of Harlan Coben is his fascination with mysteries, which always leaves viewers captivated as his series grace the screens of popular streaming platforms.

For several years now, viewers have enjoyed series such as Stay Close, The Stranger, and most recently, Fool Me Once. Although the plots vary, a constant factor remains: Richard Armitage often stars in them, and each series typically consists of only one season.

When asked about the possibility of a second season, Coben stated, “Rather than repeating the same stories, I’d prefer to offer something entirely new. I wouldn’t proceed with a season 2 unless I believe it could surpass the quality of the first one.

Instead, he mentioned that should he fail to surpass the first season, he’d opt for a fresh narrative and aim for the audience’s appreciation!

Coben’s most recent adaptation saw Michelle Keegan lead the series in Fool Me Once, who he adored working with.

Despite the challenging nature of this shoot due to numerous stunts, each day she radiated a warm smile and kind words towards everyone. This positive attitude was greatly appreciated by the entire cast and crew as it motivated us all to match her energy.
