One Piece Introduces the World's New Vegapunk

As a die-hard One Piece fan with over two decades of following this epic saga, I must admit that the latest developments have left me utterly astounded and intrigued. The death of Saturn at the hands of Imu and the introduction of St. Figarland Garling as the new Vegapunk/Fifth Elder is a game-changer that promises to elevate the stakes even higher in this grand adventure.

One Piece continues to unfold its grand finale, and Eiichiro Oda is using this opportunity to infuse some outlandish aspects into the Grand Line. Although the most recent chapter didn’t heavily feature Luffy and his Straw Hat crew, it delved into events that will undoubtedly impact their future significantly. After their clash with the World Government on Future Island, the military is now in search of a new mad scientist to lead their malevolent schemes. Unfortunately for Luffy and his Thousand Sunny’s crew, the Five Elders have discovered a replacement for their “Godhead of Science and Defense.

heads up: if you haven’t checked out One Piece’s manga, Chapter 1125 yet, beware that we’re getting into spoiler territory

Who is The New Vegapunk/Fifth Elder?

In an unexpected turn of events, I found myself standing in the “Chamber of Power”, Marijoa, witnessing a gathering of the last four Elders. The scene unfolded with the reappearance of St. Figarland Garling, a World Noble and member of the Figarland Family. He declared himself as the “Godhead of Science and Defense” and announced his ascension to the position of the Fifth Elder, with Saturn temporarily absent. Given Saturn’s formidable power, it remains to be seen if Garling can live up to the intensity of his predecessor.

What Does The New Vegapunk Mean For One Piece?

It’s a cause for concern that Imu was able to kill one of the Five Elders just by thinking about it. Luffy has shown he can hold his own against Saturn, but it seems like the military leader possesses power beyond anything we’ve seen so far in shonen series. Even with Gear Fifth at his disposal, Luffy might not be strong enough to face what many believe will be the main antagonist in One Piece.

After Saturn’s demise and Garling’s ascension in the World Government, readers were provided a clue about Vegapunk’s last message to the world. Monkey D. Dragon, Luffy’s father, expresses concern at the end of the latest chapter, as he feels many ignored Vegapunk’s post-mortem warning. The Grand Line is gradually sinking, according to Dragon, which means that people worldwide will soon start competing for safe ground. Although it’s unclear exactly how much time remains before the world of One Piece sinks completely under the sea, it’s evident that time is running out rapidly.

When Does One Piece’s Anime Introduce The New Vegapunk?

As the television series continues its final saga simultaneously with the manga, the anime adaptation of One Piece still has numerous battles and significant events to depict, as it works towards aligning itself with its original content. At present, the show is delving into the past by focusing on Imu’s introduction to King Cobra and revealing how the ruler of Alabasta met his demise. Currently, Luffy’s brother, Sabo, finds himself in a precarious situation as he witnesses these events unfold.
