Why Julie Chen Is Missing Big Brother's Eviction for First Time Ever

As an ardent fan of Julie Chen, it’s hard not to feel a pang of disappointment when she misses an episode of Big Brother after 24 years. However, her spirit and resilience shine through even in this moment. It’s heartening to see her handling the COVID-19 situation with grace, putting the safety of others first by stepping aside.

Julie Chen is doing something she’s never done before.

For the very first time in 24 long, passionate years, I – a diehard Big Brother fan – won’t be tuning in to watch the live eviction episode on September 12th. I can hardly believe it! The CBS reality competition series has been an integral part of my life for two decades, and I simply can’t imagine missing an episode. This feels like a piece of my world is being taken away from me, but I’ll be there in spirit, cheering on the houseguests until the very end!

On Friday morning, I found myself waking up with a bothersome sore throat, prompting me to seek advice from my trusted ENT friend. Later that day, he reached out to inform me that I had tested positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, this isn’t my first encounter with the virus, and so far it has been quite mild. No fever is present, just a lingering sore throat.

Chen mentioned that although she feels well, her cough has disappeared, and she tests positive for COVID-19. She stated that she will have to miss the live eviction episode of Big Brother tonight.

Nevertheless, the previous co-host of “The Talk” managed to find an ideal substitute: Presently, “The Talk” co-host Jerry O’Connell, whom she thanked for stepping in temporarily while she was away.

She playfully commented, “I’m hoping my dress suits Jerry,” and added, “I’ll have fun, let them know I’m missing everyone, but I’ll be enjoying the show from afar.

The media figure wrapped up her statement, “You can see it now, even Chenbot has human qualities! Be kind to each other and have a great time with tonight’s broadcast.

On September 12, Chen phoned into the show “The Talk” to inform O’Connell about the typical experience when releasing Big Brother’s first season 26 contestant from the competition.

As a devoted follower, I can hardly contain my excitement! Tonight, we’ll discover who’s leaving our game show, none other than the first juror! So, without delay, they’re whisked away to seclusion in the jury house.

As for Chen’s top piece of advice for filling her shoes?

She continued, “I have an essential piece of advice for this evening: When you enter my private space, make sure to check the bathroom. In the second drawer on the left side, you’ll find a corset. I assure you, Jerry, it’s crucial that you wear the corset with my dress tonight as it won’t fit otherwise. It requires two people to handle it.

Watch as O’Connell steps onto the stage of Big Brother for the first time tonight, September 12, starting at 8 p.m. The popular series, Big Brother, can be found airing every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday on CBS.
