Tony Hawk is “Working on Something” With Activision That “Fans Will Truly Appreciate”

As a long-time fan who can still remember the thrill of grinding rails and pulling off sick tricks on my virtual skateboard, hearing Tony Hawk himself hinting at new developments for the franchise has me stoked! It’s been quite a journey since I first picked up that controller and felt the rush of adrenaline as I nailed a 900.

Following Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 +2, developers Vicarious Visions merged with Blizzard Entertainment to form Blizzard Albany. This move left many fans wondering about potential future remakes of the series, but recent developments hint that something might be brewing for the franchise in the near future.

In the latest episode of Last Meal on Mythical Kitchen, professional skater Tony Hawk shared some exciting news about the future of a popular franchise. He mentioned that he’s had recent discussions with Activision and they are collaborating on a project. While he can’t reveal too much, he assured fans that it will be something they will really enjoy.

Sure, it’s anyone’s speculation as to what that “mystery” might be. Could it be remakes of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 (rumored, but apparently not approved in favor of the developer working on Call of Duty)? Or perhaps remasters of another title? A new mainline sequel? Only time will reveal the answer, but an official announcement might still be a while away.

Currently, you can still enjoy the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 game, providing an excellent means to explore the franchise. Whether it’s revisiting classic levels from the initial two installments or incorporating features introduced in later games, there’s something for everyone. The game is compatible with Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. For a more detailed look, you can find our review right here.
