The Golem of Venice Beach Book Two Preview Picks Up Where Book One's Cliffhanger Left Off (Exclusive)

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with over three decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that The Golem of Venice Beach Book 2 has piqued my interest like no other. Having delved into the complex narratives of Watchmen, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, and Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, this intriguing tale combines elements of fantasy, mystery, and suspense that resonate with me on a deeper level.

In this article, we’re privileged to provide you with an early sneak peek into “The Golem of Venice Beach Book 2,” the concluding part of the illustrated series penned by Chanan Beizer, featuring a diverse group of artists such as Vanessa Cardinali, Frank Quitely, David Mack, Nick Dragotta, Howard Chaykin, Dean Haspiel, Jae Lee, Das Pastoras, Juan Jose Ryp, Stan Sakai, and letterer Ferran Delgado. This project is about to launch on Kickstarter, so keep an eye out for it here! The narrative resumes right where Book One left off with a cliffhanger, taking the epic tale of a 400-year-old Golem through time from the 16th century Europe, the terrors of World War II, to contemporary Venice Beach, where the Golem finds itself caught in a struggle between a local gang and law enforcement.

Continuing directly from where Book 1 left off with its suspenseful ending, in “The Golem of Venice Beach: Book 2”, we encounter Adam the Golem amidst a violent gang conflict as he shields two escaping adolescents. Writer and creator Chanan Beizer explained that the situation worsens when Jake comes under the watchful eye of these same gang members, while Uncle Steph strives to heal the divide between Adam and Jake. Tensions reach their peak when Steph is abducted, forcing Adam and Jake to act swiftly. However, before they can save him, Jake must first figure out a way to repair Adam, the centuries-old Golem that has been an integral part of their family heritage for over 400 years.

Clover Press Publisher Hank Kanalz expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming launch of the finale of ‘The Golem of Venice Beach,'” said he. “Chanan Biezer’s second novel gains strength from a stellar cast of contributors, and Vanessa Cardenali’s artwork truly stands out!

The Golem of Venice Beach: Book Two is a 184-page oversized deluxe hardcover and features:

  • A captivating cover design, perfect for displaying, skillfully created by the acclaimed Scottish artist Frank Quitely (best known for his work on New X-Men, All-Star Superman, and Batman & Robin).

  • In Book 1, artist Jae Lee and colorist June Chung started the heart-wrenching tale of the Golem’s resurrection during World War Two. Now, I can’t wait to delve deeper into this emotional journey as they continue it over a four-page flashback sequence in our upcoming pages.

  • A distinctive, six-part sequence of deep introspective journey, penned by David Mack (of Daredevil and New Avengers fame), focusing on the essence of existence.

  • As I delve into this game, I can’t help but feel the echo of a legendary Sal Buscema pin-up from the historic Avengers/Defenders War of 1973. The stunning artistry here is none other than Das Pastoras, the Spanish mastermind behind Metabarons. It’s like stepping into a time machine and experiencing that iconic artwork in a whole new way.

  • A nine-page bonus tale about Golem, skillfully crafted by a talented team including Dean Haspiel from Brooklyn (winner of the Emmy Award for Covid Cop), Juan Jos Ryp known for his critically acclaimed work on Frank Miller’s RoboCop, Nick Dragotta who is famous for his contributions to best-selling comics like X-Statix, legendary comic artist Howard Chaykin (American Flagg), and renowned creator Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo).

  • Unique prints from Kickstarter, sized at 8 inches by 10 inches, perfect for framing and displaying on your wall. Each print showcases artwork contributed by one of the ten artists featured in Book Two.

  • In Book 1, artwork from each of these seven artists – Michael Allred, Stephen R. Bissette, Vanessa Cardinali, Jae Lee, Nick Pitarra, Paul Pope, and Bill Sienkiewicz – is included.

  • A Kickstarter Exclusive Hardcover that features a unique signature plate signed by Quitely.
