As a devoted horror fanatic with a penchant for the macabre, I can hardly contain my excitement over Shudder’s Season of Screams lineup! The upcoming season promises to be a chilling rollercoaster ride filled with suspense, terror, and a dash of dark humor that will surely tickle even the most jaded horror enthusiast.
With Halloween fast approaching, horror enthusiasts are on the lookout for how different streaming platforms plan to celebrate the season. However, fans of Shudder already know that they can maintain the eerie atmosphere all year round thanks to its extensive collection of cherished and exclusive content. Yet, the upcoming Halloween period promises even more excitement as the service unveils a host of chilling additions. These include original films such as “In a Violent Nature”, “Oddity”, and “V/H/S/Beyond”, along with original series like “The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula”, “Horror’s Greatest”, and “The Creep Tapes”. Furthermore, each Friday will see Shudder TV air themed double features, allowing fans worldwide to host their own watch parties.
According to a press release, Shudder’s Season of Screams includes highly anticipated films like the critically acclaimed “In a Violent Nature”, the latest addition to the popular “V/H/S” franchise – “V/H/S/Beyond”, and “The Exorcism” starring Russell Crowe. Also included is a new season of “The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula” and the premiere of the eagerly awaited series, “The Creep Tapes”, created by Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice. These new movies and shows will be added to Shudder’s extensive collection which already includes all 8 films from the Friday the 13th franchise, the entire Rob Zombie catalog (7 films), the cult-classic “It Follows”, the streaming return of Mike Flanagan’s “Hush”, popular found footage horror “The Houses October Built” set during Halloween, and the addition of “Chucky” Season 3 to make the full series available.
“Also returning is Shudder’s popular Halloween Hotline (Dates TBA). - A deaf and muted writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.
The film “The Houses October Built,” available on Shudder Library’s collection, will premiere its new documentary on Tuesday, October 1st.

The Exorcism (Shudder Exclusive Film) – New Film Premieres Wednesday, October 30th
- Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe stars as Anthony Miller, a troubled actor who begins to unravel while shooting a supernatural horror film. His estranged daughter, Lee (Ryan Simpkins), wonders if he’s slipping back into his past addictions or if there’s something more sinister at play. The Creep Tapes (Shudder Original Series) – New Series Premieres Friday, November 15th
- From writers and executive producers Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice, The Creep Tapes continues to unravel the mind of a secluded serial killer who lures videographers into his world with the promise of a paid job documenting his life.
