Watch Dog Movie Wraps Up Filming

Watch Dog Movie Wraps Up Filming

As a dedicated fan of the Watch Dogs series, I must admit that the swift progression of the live-action movie has left me utterly bewildered and pleasantly surprised! It seems like only yesterday when we were eagerly awaiting news about the third game installment, and now we have confirmation that filming has wrapped up!

The pace at which the Watch Dogs movie has been developed has surpassed many predictions, considering the status of the gaming franchise. In March, Ubisoft and New Regency confirmed that work on a live-action adaptation of Watch Dogs had started, with filming commencing just a few months later, in July.

The movie’s shooting has now been completed, as announced by Ubisoft via Twitter. The shoot took slightly more than two months in total. Earlier confirmations revealed that the film features Sophie Wilde from “Talk to Me” and Tom Blyth from “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”. Christie LeBlanc, known for “Oxygen”, penned the original screenplay, while Mathieu Turi was in charge of direction. Interestingly, Turi is also slated to direct a movie based on Asobo Studio’s “A Plague Tale: Innocence” as well.

It’s yet unknown when the “Watch Dogs” movie will come out. In the meantime, the outlook for the franchise in the gaming world seems less clear, as rumors circulated earlier this year that the series might have been cancelled due to the poor performance of “Watch Dogs: Legion”. You can read more about that here.
