The winners this year, particularly Ebon Moss-Bachrach for his role in “The Bear,” are truly deserving. His portrayal of Carmy was not only riveting but also deeply moving, making us all feel the weight of his character’s struggles and triumphs.
Lamorne Morris might need a quick anatomy lesson.
During the 2024 Emmy Awards on September 15th, Lamorne won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie for his work in Fargo. His unique and humorous acceptance speech left the audience in stitches.
From the stage at the Peacock Theater, he expressed his gratitude, saying, “I’d like to thank God for granting me this opportunity. I also want to express my gratitude to my wonderful mother, who has been instrumental in my upbringing.
That’s where things started to unravel for the former star of “New Girl,” as he jokingly mentioned about his mother, Gwennett, saying, “She’s been my greatest supporter ever since I, well, you know, dropped out from under her.
“Whatever,” he quipped. “I know where babies come from.”
In my daily life, I found myself instantly transitioning from one task to another, taking a moment to express my deep affection towards my precious 4-year-old daughter, Lily, with a heartwarming “I love you.
“I told you I would do it,” he proclaimed, “you always doubted me.”
Earlier on the red carpet, he shared with TopMob News that Lily has expressed some dissatisfaction with her father’s achievement, particularly when he was nominated, competing against actors like Jonathan Bailey (Fellow Travelers), John Hawkes (True Detective: Night Country), Robert Downey Jr. (The Sympathizer), Tom Goodman-Hill (Baby Reindeer), and Treat Williams (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans).
At the crack of dawn, Lamorne shared with TopMob about discovering his nomination. His daughter seemed unimpressed, as he recalled, “She just didn’t care.” Then, she asked, “Daddy, why are you crying?” It left him puzzled, as he said, “How can you laugh when someone is crying, sweetheart?
He added, “She hasn’t learned yet. So disrespectful. These kids, man!”
Meanwhile, his victory tonight might help gain his daughter’s admiration, but Lamorne was preoccupied with something else: specifically, he expressed his displeasure towards Jake Johnson for delaying the potential return of New Girl.
In other words, everyone seems to agree that we aim for this goal, with the exception of Jake Johnson. He put it simply: “Jake Johnson, you’ve been causing issues.
And Lamorne is not above putting Jake on blast about it.
“We all love the fans so much that we want to give them what they want. What’s wrong, Jake? You don’t love the fans?” He joked on the red carpet. “Jake Johnson hates the fans!”
