As someone who has been following the gaming industry for over two decades now, I must say the latest rumors surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2 have certainly piqued my curiosity. The potential colors of the console – black and white joy-cons – are intriguing, especially since we’ve only seen white joy-cons with the OLED model so far.
I’ve been hearing some buzz lately about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Last week, there was a rumor about its potential price, and now, another one seems to have surfaced, hinting at the colors it might come in. Supposedly, the console will just be called “Switch 2,” which is what gamers like me have been referring to it as for years. On top of that, there’s talk that production has already begun, implying a reveal could be imminent to keep manufacturing secrets under wraps!
What is more interesting than these two tidbits though is a detail thrown away in the report. It is claimed the console will have a Black and White joy-cons. Now, it is unclear — mostly because this comes through translation of Chinese — if it is meant that one joy-con will be white and the other black, or if there will be two color options. Whatever the case, black would be new for the Nintendo Switch. White joy-cons we’ve seen via the Nintendo Switch OLED, but there hasn’t been a black joy-con release yet.
The origin of this recent gossip can be traced back to Famiboards, a widely recognized Chinese discussion platform, through an unidentified source. At present, we cannot confirm or deny the validity of these claims, so it’s essential to approach this information with skepticism, given its questionable authenticity. Nevertheless, it’s worth noting that Famiboards has occasionally leaked accurate information in the past, which is why it continues to garner attention whenever a new rumor originates from there.
As of now, Nintendo hasn’t responded to this rumor whatsoever. Given their history, they rarely address rumors, and we don’t anticipate this being an exception. Should they decide to speak up, rest assured we’ll incorporate any new information into our story, regardless of its significance.
