Richards then confirmed that the project has been shelved due to complications with licensing rights.

Ben 10 Has Axed Its Live-Action Plans

Back in 2011, Joel Silver was tapped to create a live-action movie for the series, with Warner Bros. slated to distribute the film. Silver aspired to make Ben 10 into a Hollywood franchise, and given the abundance of sci-fi content in the original series, it wasn’t an unfounded ambition.
Silver shared with Variety that he believes we need to approach things innovatively while still respecting the source material. He explained this is a balance between the perspectives of his 5-year-old and 9-year-old children.
