Richard Osman’s Thursday Murder Club movie wraps filming, Netflix confirms

As someone who has spent countless hours binge-watching British mysteries and whodunits, I can hardly contain my excitement over Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club! With an all-star cast that reads like a Who’s Who of British acting royalty, it’s a dream come true for this armchair detective.

Netflix has confirmed that filming for the eagerly awaited cinematic adaption based on Richard Osman’s debut The Thursday Murder Club novel is now wrapped up.

The movie, helmed by Chris Columbus, has gathered a stellar ensemble of actors to breathe life into Osman’s cherished characters. In this production, Dame Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Celia Imrie, and Sir Ben Kingsley portray the quartet of retirees who join forces to unravel mysteries within their retirement community.

Moreover, the cast boasts notable British actors like David Tennant, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Richard E. Grant, Tom Ellis, Ingrid Oliver, and Jonathan Pryce. A star-studded lineup, indeed.

While producing the movie, we were honored to have Steven Spielberg visit us. He not only took up the role of an executive producer but also shared some behind-the-scenes photos from his experience on set. In addition, Osman contributed a few images from his own time there as well.

According to the initial book from Osman’s series, the upcoming movie is set to retell a story about four gentlemen who have retired, and their greatest pleasure lies in solving mysteries together.

But when they find themselves in the middle of a very much live case, things start to go awry.

Currently, there’s no set release date for “The Thursday Murder Club”, as production has recently finished. We’ll eagerly await more news about its release, so stay tuned! Keep looking forward to updates.
