As a die-hard Skate fan who’s been riding the digital waves since its original release back in the day, I can’t help but feel a rush of adrenaline hearing about the 2025 Early Access launch of this iconic franchise! The prospect of skating through the streets once more, with the added twist of free-to-play mechanics and an array of customizable cosmetics, is almost too good to be true.
Full Circle has disclosed that their revival of the iconic skateboarding series from Electronic Arts, known as Skate, will commence early access in the year 2025. More information about this project is expected to surface in the upcoming months; but for now, the developers have released a brief video demonstrating different skaters executing tricks, taking falls, and even incorporating on-the-spot level elements.
Instead of its predecessors, the revamped “Skate” is a free-to-play game. It offers an array of customizable elements such as deck designs, wheel colors, clothing, and more. While some items can be obtained by simply playing, others must be bought from the in-game store. The developers at Full Circle assure us that there are no “pay-to-win” aspects; all content is accessible without any paywalls.
The developers haven’t specified when we can expect the early access release of Skate, but they did mention console playtests are planned for this autumn. Keep an eye out for more news within the next few weeks.
