DC Reveals New Series Starring Fan-Favorite Batman Villain

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with decades of immersion in the dark alleys of Gotham, I can hardly contain my excitement for DC’s latest announcement – the solo title for one of Batman‘s most intriguing villains: Two-Face!

In exciting news, one of Batman’s persistent adversaries is set to star in their very own solo comic book series! DC Comics officially unveiled this news on Thursday as part of their All-In initiative, introducing us to the new limited series titled Two-Face. This gripping tale will be penned by Christian Ward, beautifully illustrated by F?bio Veras, and colored by Ivan Plascencia, with Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou handling the lettering. The debut issue of this thrilling journey will showcase a main cover by Baldemar Rivas, along with variant covers crafted by Christian Ward, Chris Samnee, and Leonardo Romero.

Following my deep affection for the intricate character, Harvey, in “Batman: City of Madness“, Ward expressed his enthusiasm, “I can’t help but feel more exhilarated and proud,” to be writing Two-Face’s inaugural solo series! Two-Face stands undeniably not just as my preferred Batman antagonist, but as my most cherished character within the entirety of Gotham. I am beyond eager to embark on this journey with up-and-coming artist sensation F?bio Veras and legendary colorist Ivan Plascencia and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, exploring unanticipated realms. Our first destination will lead Harvey Dent back to the courtroom.

What Is Two-Face About?

In the character of Two-Face, after years of battling internal turmoil, Harvey Dent manages to achieve an uneasy truce between his two personas. Utilizing his legal expertise, he takes on the task of resolving the most bizarre and perilous crimes in Gotham City, commencing with Victor Zsasz. When Zsasz is implicated in the murder of a fellow underworld associate, there’s no one more fitting to establish the innocence of a criminal than someone who has walked on both sides of the law.

In our show, Harvey is employing his criminology knowledge to tackle the peculiar and menacing crimes of Gotham’s criminal underworld, while simultaneously yearning for a return to normal life and possibly reconnecting with his former friend, Bruce Wayne, as Ward put it. “Let the proceedings commence, the court is in session, Harvey has made his decision, and justice will soon be served!

What Is DC All In?

Earlier this summer, a fresh new project was announced, which includes two main aspects: a revamped DC universe filled with thrilling character transformations, and a continuous series of essential comics, providing fresh perspectives for many heroes and teams. The “Absolute” series will kick off with titles like “Absolute Batman” by Snyder and Nick Dragotta, “Absolute Superman” by Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval, and “Absolute Wonder Woman” by Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman.

Snyder expressed that the launch of the entire DC Universe felt like returning home, just as I had envisioned. He added that DC All In will be an excellent opportunity for both new readers and those who have taken a break, to delve into fresh tales they’ll adore and discover where the future lies for DC’s main comic book series.
