As a seasoned gamer with decades under my belt, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia every time I see games disappearing from the PlayStation Plus catalog. The upcoming departures of October 2024 have left me particularly disheartened, especially given the titles that are about to vanish.
10 games from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog are set to disappear in the coming weeks for both Extra and Premium subscribers. While Sony often highlights new additions to PS Plus every month, it’s the games leaving the platform that tend to go unnoticed. As October 2024 approaches, we have details on which PS5 and PS4 titles will be taken off the service.
Over the past week, ten games have been added to the “Last Chance to Play” area of PS Plus on the PlayStation 5 interface. Notably, among these is the exclusive title, “LittleBigPlanet 3,” which was published by Sony itself. The reason for removing “LBP 3” from PS Plus hasn’t been disclosed yet, but it’s not unprecedented for PlayStation-published games to be taken off the service. Other titles leaving the platform include a Street Fighter game, “Gotham Knights,” and five distinct installments of Dragon Quest.

It’s quite unfortunate that The Evil Within, a survival-horror game developed by Tango Gameworks and created by Resident Evil mastermind Shinji Mikami, is being taken off PS Plus. This removal comes at a time when subscribers would likely be most interested in playing it, such as before Halloween. Given that the game was first released in 2014, it’s no longer a new title. However, for those who hadn’t played The Evil Within yet, this timing would have provided the ideal opportunity to explore it.
Typically, Sony doesn’t specify an exact departure date for the PS Plus games. However, if a game appears in the “Last Chance to Play” section, it usually means it has only one month left before it disappears. If this pattern holds true here, then these games will be removed from the service on October 15, 2024.
