Gameplay Tutorial
In “Of Thorns and Crowns,” each phase consists of two bouts of fighting. During the “Trial of Thorns,” you’ll need to accomplish challenge tasks using specified methods. The more successfully you navigate the “Trial of Thorns,” the greater the bonuses you’ll earn in the “Canticle of Crowns.
In the “Song of Crowns,” make sure to utilize your unique abilities to battle as many enemies as time allows, aiming to achieve the maximum score.
In combat, Wayob Manifestations will set up their Trial Arena, a protective zone that safeguards them while gathering all party members’ Elemental Power. Characters within this arena dish out significantly higher damage. If the shield is destroyed prior to the arena’s end, they also recover a substantial amount of energy. However, if you’re unable to break the shield, the Manifestations will erect a barrier proportional to the remaining shield strength.

> How to Complete Trial of Bedrock, Song of the Fireflies
In the Trial of Thorns, you must successfully shatter the Golem’s Geo barrier at least 10 times within a span of 1 minute to receive all the bonuses. Fortunately, they have provided us with Navia and Kachina who make excellent team members to start with. When the challenge initiates, make sure to activate both their Ultimate abilities.
Afterward, switch to Bennett and Fischl, then utilize their abilities to activate Overload. In case you’re unaware, Overload is unique as it assists in lessening Geo shields, unlike other reactions that have no effect on them.
Ultimately, revert to using Navia’s ability for substantial damage. Remember to keep her skill on hold if you prefer not to gather the Elemental Shard manually from the field. When her skill is on cooldown, you can also opt for her basic attack as Claymore can also breach Geo barriers. Continue this process until you penetrate 10 Geo shields.
In the “Canticle of Crowns,” your goal is to eliminate as many adversaries as you can before time runs out. To achieve Platinum, it’s beneficial to leverage buffs to boost your team’s attack power. This particular stage offers Dendro-related bonuses, so including at least one Dendro character in your team is advisable. During the challenge’s onset, you’ll notice Fungi popping up close to each other. However, they can quickly disperse, making crowd control (CC) skills particularly useful here.
After the Fungi, there are now three Tribal Warriors. While their health points aren’t particularly high, they can be easily staggered. A good strategy would be to align them in a straight line before attacking, as when they are pushed back, they won’t wander too far from the line. This ensures that you can keep targeting them effectively.
In the third phase, there are three Water Boars present. Since they’re resistant to water, it’s best to keep any water-based characters benched and utilize dendro and other element characters instead. Due to their tendency to stay close, aim to reduce their health quickly as soon as possible.
During the fourth wave, a cluster of Water Slimes appear. Just like previously, they are impervious to water-based attacks, making it necessary for you to continually use Earth or Plant-based attacks in order to induce a ‘Bloom’.
At last, you’ll encounter two Ruin Guards. It’s beneficial that they chase you, but take note that some of their attacks can push your character back, so watch out for this, particularly when attempting to activate Elemental Skill. Once the Ruin Guards are defeated, the enemy’s onslaught will restart from wave 1 again (the Fungi).
