As a seasoned survivor of the frozen wastelands, I’ve seen my fair share of desolate landscapes and struggled to keep the human spirit alive amidst the bitter cold. But nothing quite compares to the challenge that Frostpunk 2’s Old Dreadnought map presents! Establishing a colony here is no walk in the park, but with the right strategies and a dash of determination, it can be done.
Let’s get straight to the point! At some stage in the game, you will need to build your settlement on the Old Dreadnought map within Frostpunk 2. In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through setting up a colony at the Old Dreadnought. I’ll go over all the essentials like acquiring cores, setting up paths, and controlling your Frostland Teams!
How To Establish a Colony at the Old Dreadnought
To establish your settlement, there are essential items you’ll require: Cores, Frostland Teams, and Building Plans (Prefabs). You’re already familiar with how Building Plans function, so I won’t delve into that. Cores can be discovered while exploring, and you might find one quite close by! Simply click on them to gather the components; They cannot be produced.
Next, you’ll be tasked with mapping a route to our colony location. Simply click on the desired area and you’ll notice some black markers appearing. Clicking on these will help you extend your mapped path. Additionally, connecting to other areas allows for an expanded reach. Note that in this instance, no Way Station needs to be built.
Following that, feel free to initiate construction using your Frostland Teams. To acquire additional Frostland Teams, simply establish new Logistic Districts. As your empire grows, these districts will offer even more teams! Now, the connection-building process begins, enabling you to transport colonists over later on.
As a gamer, I’m preparing to launch a massive migration of 3,000 citizens from my homeland. The transport network needs to be established first, which should take around a couple of weeks. Keep in mind that this exodus will deplete our city population. Once the setup is complete, it’ll take an additional 15 weeks for them to reach their destination.
Following the patience I’ve shown, I can finally explore our latest settlement! This region resembles the Prologue map, and if memory serves, we’ve managed to set up our colony at the Old Dreadnought successfully. Here, you’ll encounter different statistical patterns and population fluctuations, much like any other colony we’ve built.
You’ve Done It!
Here it is: Congratulations! You’ve successfully set up a colony at the Old Dreadnought in Frostpunk 2. It comes with unique characteristics and a bustling populace. Don’t forget that managing your Frostland Teams and resources effectively will be crucial for your colony to prosper!
