As a lifelong fan of British television and an avid gamer who has spent countless hours exploring the vast universes created by the likes of Gerry Anderson, hearing about the passing of David Graham feels like losing a dear friend. His voice, his talent, and his indomitable spirit have been a constant companion in my entertainment journey for as long as I can remember.

99-year-old actor David Graham, known for voicing characters like Doctor Who and Peppa Pig, has sadly passed away. Throughout his long and distinguished career, he worked in both voice acting and various television productions. The BBC announced this news after receiving a statement from producer Jamie Anderson, who had a close working relationship with Graham. He left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry, particularly for British audiences, having played significant roles in iconic science fiction series as well as characters like Parker and Gordon Tracy in Thunderbirds. For younger viewers, he lent his voice to the beloved character Grandpa Pig in Peppa Pig, guiding them through daily adventures.

Anderson penned a letter to the BBC saying, “A mere few weeks ago, I was among 2,000 of his fans at a Gerry Anderson concert in Birmingham, where we all sang him happy birthday – such a delightful experience. Now, just a short while later, he’s departed from us… From Daleks to Grandpa Pig and countless characters for Anderson’s shows like Brains, Gordon Tracy, and the legendary Parker, his absence will be deeply felt.

David Graham, best known for his role in the hit TV show “Thunderbirds,” was another significant project Graham collaborated closely on with creator Gerry Anderson. Following the news of his passing, the show’s producer expressed gratitude for Graham’s career by tweeting, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of David Graham, a legend in our industry. Known as Parker, Gordon Tracy, Brains, and many more iconic characters, David was always a cherished friend to us at Anderson Entertainment. We will miss you dearly, David. Our thoughts are with your loved ones.

A Long Career For David Graham In Television

Listening to Graham reminisce about his acting past was truly enjoyable. Once you’re acquainted with other projects he’s completed, you can easily identify his unique voice timbre. In a previous interview on Good Morning Britain, the actor revealed that he discovered Parker’s distinctive voice for Thunderbirds thanks to an unexpected waiter!

In a nutshell, Graham shared his story, saying, “He led me to a pub, where an elderly man was already seated at our table. As if on cue, he approached us and asked, ‘Shall I bring you the wine list, sir?’ That’s how Parker came into being.” To make it more lively, I added some flair to the narrative, but essentially, that’s the origin of him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Graham’s family at this time.
