Tia Mowry Reveals She Is No Longer Close With Twin Sister Tamera

As I delve into the captivating lives of these two extraordinary women, Gabrielle Union and Bianca Lawson, I am struck by their remarkable versatility and resilience in the face of adversity. Both have graced our screens with their talent for decades, from ’90s teen dramas to modern-day powerhouses like “Queen Sugar” and “LA’s Finest”.

There appears to be a rift between sister, sister.

At some point, it seems there was a divorce between Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict. As Tia Mowry herself mentioned, this divorce apparently strained her relationship with her twin sister, Tamera Mowry Housley.

Tia shared on her WE tv docuseries, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, that being alone has been the hardest aspect of her divorce. She expressed that moments like these make her yearn for a closer relationship with her sister, so she could call her up and talk.

The 46-year-old continued, “But that’s just not where we are right now.”

TopMob News has reached out to Tamera for comment on Tia’s remarks but has not heard back.

Tia, known for achieving stardom alongside her sister in the 90s sitcom “Sister, Sister,” has yet to offer additional comments regarding their current twin relationship.

On the very day that the preview for Tia Mowry: My Next Act was unveiled, she posted an old video clip featuring herself and Tamera from their previous series, Tia & Tamera, which originally aired on the Style network from 2011 to 2013.

In a nod back to the days of “Tia & Tamera,” Tia labeled an Instagram photo with, “Who recalls when I persuaded my sister to sample my breast milk after Cree was born?!” Tia’s post clearly indicated that this event from their past indeed took place.

The TV personality, who posted a video of Tamera praising her breast milk in 2019, around six years after the birth of their daughter Cairo with her former spouse, went on to say: “Given that my new series ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act’ is set for release on October 4th, I felt it was appropriate to resurface this memorable moment. Fasten your seatbelts for more humor, authenticity, and all the fresh experiences yet to come!

At the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards in March, Tamera and Tia were most recently spotted together in a public setting. It was there that Tia ran into Cory on the red carpet.

In October 2022, following her twin’s announcement of a divorce from her ex after 14 years of marriage, which she made public on Instagram, Tamera received support from her sister Tia. This support was shown through four heart emojis in the comments and a message that read, “I love you.

Tamera later applauded her twin for being “a strong, strong woman.”

Speaking on TopMob News last month, I expressed my admiration by saying, “I am genuinely impressed by her courage in embracing and living authentically. It takes a strong individual to do so, and she is one of them.” The Mowrys and I stand united, supporting her every step of the way.

As a die-hard fan, I simply can’t contain my excitement! Well, she’s at it again! With her new show “Tia Mowry: My Next Act” set to air on October 4th, she’s revisiting this iconic moment. Brace yourselves for more laughter, raw emotions, and a peek into all the fresh chapters that are about to unfold!

Most recently, Tamera and Tia were spotted attending the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards together in March. While there, Tia had a chance encounter with Cory on the red carpet.

In October 2022, following Tia’s announcement of her divorce from her husband after 14 years of marriage on Instagram, Tamera showed her support for her twin by commenting with four heart emojis and a message saying, “I love you.

Tamera later applauded her twin for being “a strong, strong woman.”

Last month on TopMob News, she expressed, “I admire her for standing firm in her authenticity without fear.” The Mowrys added, “We’re with her all the way.

Besides appearing in the TV show Tia & Tamera and Disney Channel Original Movies Twitches with her sister, Tia also achieved solo success through BET’s The Game and her own Cooking Channel program, Tia Mowry at Home. Since 2019, she has been starring in the Netflix sitcom Family Reunion, several TV holiday films, and the WE tv docuseries Tia Mowry: My Next Act.

Apart from that, Tia has published a cookbook, runs her personal YouTube channel, and introduced a range of vitamins and supplements called Anser.

In the year 2008, she tied the knot with actor Cory Hardrict, whom she had initially met on the film set of “Hollywood Horror.” Together, they welcomed two children: a son named Cree, born in 2013, and a daughter called Cairo, who arrived in 2018. Unfortunately, Tia and Cory parted ways in 2023. Afterward, she went on to work on another production.

Apart from her collaborative ventures with her sister, Tamera made appearances in shows like ‘Dr. Strong Medicine’ on Lifetime, multiple holiday TV films, and established herself as a competent TV host. However, following a seven-year tenure as a panelist on ‘The Real’, Tamera announced her departure from the daytime talk show in July 2020.

She expressed her immense pride in what we, the women, have achieved together at that place, which includes two NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy. Yet, all good things eventually conclude, and with a mixture of joy and sadness, I am sharing the news that I am leaving The Real.

In the year 2011, Tamera tied the knot with her husband, former baseball player and Fox News correspondent Adam Housley. Together, they are parents to a son named Aden, who is now 8 years old, and a daughter named Ariah, aged 6. The family shares their daily life on their YouTube channel, titled The Housley Life.

The TV series “Sister, Sister” may have been named after its twin protagonists, but it predominantly focused on the mother character, who, being the star of “227” and a trailblazer as the first and only Black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, effortlessly outshone every scene she appeared in as Lisa, Tia’s adoptive parent and talented fashion designer.

Over time, she landed regular roles on shows like “Everybody Hates Chris” and “Let’s Stay Together,” followed by joining the principal casts of “The First Family” in 2012 and “Tyler Perry’s The Paynes” in 2018. She’s also made appearances on “Girl Meets World,” “K.C. Undercover,” and “A Black Lady Sketch Show.” More recently, she started portraying Paulina Price on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” which began in 2021.

In addition to their reunion on screen, the actress worked with her fictional daughters in various productions, such as the docuseries titled “Tia & Tamera”, Lifetime’s holiday movie called “My Christmas Inn”, and the Netflix series named “Family Reunion”.

The WKRP in Cincinnati and Frank’s Place star played Ray, Tamera’s oft-exasperated father.

After parting ways with his former limo service business, Reid has become a recurring presence in the world of Christmas TV movies. He’s starred in festive films broadcast by Hallmark Channel, Lifetime, and OWN. Additionally, he’s made guest appearances on shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, That ’70s Show, Greenleaf, and Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings.

Go home, Roger!

For six years, Houston portrayed Roger, a character who was initially the twins’ annoying neighbor but later became their love interest, as well as being part of the R&B group Immature. Later on, he put out six solo studio albums and acted in films like ‘You’ve Got Served’, ‘Fat Albert’. Since 2019, you can find him on VH1’s popular reality series ‘Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood’, and he has produced several TV movies for BET.

In August of 2020, Houston (aged 39) got married to Miya Dickey who was only 19 at the time. They have two children together – Zara, who was born in 2021, and Greyson, born in 2023.

After finishing his role as Bud on The Cosby Show, Richmond then joined the fifth season of Sister, Sister, playing Tamera’s boyfriend named Jordan. Subsequently, he featured in movies like Scream 3, National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, and Not Another Teen Movie. Additionally, he made a brief appearance in an episode of Psych.

In the fifth season, we meet Lee, who is Tia’s boyfriend, Tyreke. He then becomes a main character in seasons six and seven, which marks the end of the series.

He would go on to guest star on a string of hit series, including Moesha, ER, Boston Public and Monk. In 2014, he landed a main role in Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse, which was produced by LeBron James and ran for three years. Most recently, he starred in the miniseries Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.

He married Sheana Freeman in 2010 and they have two sons.

During his short stint on their program, the twins’ younger sibling portrayed three distinct roles: Tia’s cousin Tahj, T.J. Henderson (a character from another WB sitcom, Smart Guy, in a crossover episode) and an SAT tutor.

Apart from his role in “Smart Guy”, Tahj Mowry is well-known for playing Michelle Tanner’s best friend Teddy on “Full House”. He later gained fame as the lead in ABC Family’s successful sitcom “Baby Daddy” and provided the voice for Wade in the popular Disney Channel animated series “Kim Possible”. More recently, he appeared in “The Muppets Mayhem”.

Tahj had a relationship with “Glee” actress Naya Rivera from around the year 2000 until 2004. They first met on the set of “Smart Guy”. In July 2020, when she went missing while boating, he wrote a touching tribute for her. Unfortunately, authorities later confirmed her death.

Looking back, our lives have been intertwined like two vines growing side by side. We navigated the complexities of childhood, matured into adulthood, and shared countless ‘firsts’ together. You were my first taste of love, intimacy, and heartache – experiences that forever shaped me. We’ve broken each other’s hearts only to heal them anew… more times than I can count.

I can’t help but notice that it was rare to miss a hit TV show during the ’90s and early 2000s without spotting Lawson, who portrayed the infamous mean girl Rhonda. Her extensive resume includes appearances on shows like Saved By the Bell: The New Class, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Steve Harvey Show, and Dawson’s Creek. She also reprised her role as a high school’s reigning queen of meanness in Save the Last Dance. Furthermore, her streak of teen dramas continued with significant supporting roles in The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, Teen Wolf, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

Since 2016, Lawson has been a leading character in the OWN drama “Queen Sugar,” a production jointly helmed by Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay.

In 2015, Lawson took on a new role as sister to Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, as her father, actor Richard Lawson, wed their mother, Tina Knowles. An interesting trivia: Richard was also seen on the show “Sister, Sister”, portraying Lisa’s boyfriend in the final season. However, Richard and Tina ended their marriage in 2024.

Prior to her role as cheerleader Isis in the popular 2000 film “Bring It On”, Union appeared as Vanessa, friends of Tia and Tamera, during seasons four and five.

The ageless actress has been in a slew of movies since, among them The Brothers, Deliver Us From Eva, Bad Boys II, The Perfect Holiday, Cadillac Records, Think Like a Man, Top Five, Birth of a Nation, Girls Trip and Breaking In. She won an NAACP Image Award for her role as a driven journalist in the BET series Being Mary Jane and currently plays an LAPD detective (who is her same character from Bad Boys II) in Spectrum Originals’ LA’s Finest.

During one season, Union served as a judge on America’s Got Talent. After leaving the program, she claimed that the working environment was poisonous and she experienced racist and sexist comments. Contrarily, an independent probe found that no one involved with the show made any inappropriate or disrespectful remarks about Ms. Union’s looks, as stated by NBC and AGT producers back in May 2020.

In that moment, Union shared with Variety that her ultimate aim was significant transformation, not only for the specific show, but also for the broader corporation. This change should ideally trickle down from leadership positions. Her vision was to establish an environment characterized by happiness, efficiency, inclusivity, safety, and health, making it a model workplace.

Back in 2014, I found myself tying the knot with none other than NBA legend Dwyane Wade, a man who has become more than just a sports idol for me. After nearly six years of being smitten, we finally took the plunge and made it official. Our little bundle of joy, Kaavia James, joined our family in 2018, born via a surrogate. And to top it all off, I’m now a proud stepmom to Dwyane’s three amazing children from his past relationships. It’s an honor and a dream come true!
