7 Witchy Shows to Stream After Agatha All Along

1. Charmed

First aired in 1998 and spanning eight seasons on The WB and The CW, the original Charmed series might not have depicted a coven or the tribulations of the Witches’ Road, but it did introduce us to the story of three powerful sisters, known as The Charmed Ones, who are reputed to be the most potent good witches in existence. They used the Power of Three to safeguard innocence from evil, a force that encompassed entities such as demons, warlocks, and others. This show, which carried strong feminist undertones and made significant cultural waves, paved the way for other television series – such as The Secret Circle and Hex, both worthy of mention – by incorporating elements of real witchcraft and mythology, much like Agatha All Alone.

For Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the character hails from Archie Comics and the series that started in 1971 titled “Sabrina the Teenage Witch”. She lives with her centuries-old aunts, Hilda and Zelda, who are witches, as well as their enchanted talking cat, Salem, who happens to be a witch himself, transformed into a cat for attempting world domination.

Living with her aunts, she juggles her dual identity in a much darker narrative compared to the lighter “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.” The series explores the depths of gothic horror aesthetics and supernatural elements, giving it a visual vibe reminiscent of the enigmatic “Agatha All Along.

4. Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches

In progress, AMC’s rendition of Anne Rice’s trilogy titled “Lives of the Mayfair Witches,” known as “Mayfair Witches” for short, is currently airing its first season with a second season anticipated in 2025. For those who enjoy supernatural tales like “Agatha All Along,” this series offers another intriguing witch-themed viewing experience. The narrative revolves around Dr. Rowan Fielding, a neurosurgeon, who uncovers her connection to a lineage of powerful witches, who are tormented by a malevolent entity called Lasher. 5. American Horror Story: Coven

You really can’t have a list of witchy watches without American Horror Story: Coven if for one simple reason: it features Patti LuPone. The third season of American Horror Story overall, it’s considered by many to be one of the series’ best and follows a coven of witches descended from Salem. The series frequently features flashbacks through different points in history, especially during the Salem witch trials in 1692. Also notable about Coven — and part of what makes it a good watch alongside Agatha All Along beyond just Patti LuPone — is that Coven sees the witches undergo a trial called the Seven Wonders in order to determine who will be the new Supreme or leader of the coven and most powerful witch. While not exactly the same, the idea of witches undergoing trials for power is reminiscent of the Witches’ Road.

6. The Magicians

The show “The Magicians,” which first aired in 2009 on SYFY and ran for five seasons, features fantasy, spells, and adventure as its primary elements, much like witchcraft but not exactly. It serves as an excellent accompaniment to the series “Agatha All Along.” Adapted from Lev Grossman’s book of the same name, “The Magicians” tells the story of Quentin Coldwater, a student at Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy, who seeks to become a magician. While there, he learns that the magical world from his beloved childhood books is real and poses a danger to humanity. Unfortunately, his friend Julia is not accepted into the university and must search for magic elsewhere.
