Naruto Celebrates 25th Anniversary With Blast From the Past Video: Watch

As a gamer who’s been around the block a few times, I can confidently say that Naruto‘s 25th anniversary is like my favorite ninja turning silver! It feels like just yesterday when I was diving headfirst into the action-packed world of Naruto Uzumaki. The manga’s debut in 1999 was a game-changer, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since.

25 years ago, I picked up a manga called Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Little did I know that this story would go on to become one of the biggest and most influential franchises ever created! Now, as we celebrate its anniversary, a special video is showcasing the series’ most memorable moments. Since its debut, Naruto has been such a hit for Shueisha that it spawned a full sequel series, which is currently in the midst of its own continuation.

The beloved anime adaption of “Naruto” just marked its 20th anniversary, yet the manga continues to make history. Although 25 years have passed since the series began, it remains as captivating as ever. Fans are eagerly reminiscing about iconic moments from the original series, and Shueisha is joining in the nostalgia with a special video commemorating “Naruto’s” most memorable scenes to kick off the 25th anniversary celebration. You can watch it below:

What Is Naruto?

Initially unveiled in 1999, Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto presents readers with Naruto Uzumaki, a village orphan from the concealed ninja settlement, the Leaf Village Hidden. It transpires that this village was once assaulted by a fearsome creature called the Nine-Tailed Beast years prior. Naruto’s father had given up his life to aid in defeating the beast, and afterwards, the baby Naruto was used as its temporary prison. Consequently, Naruto has been compelled to live independently while facing widespread disdain due to the monster residing within him.

In spite of his seemingly limited traditional ninja skills and academic struggles, Naruto’s ambition remains unwavering – to be the village leader, the Hokage, and earn the people’s admiration. His indomitable spirit drives him through the series, battling progressively formidable adversaries and amassing such power that he ultimately achieves his goal and becomes the Hokage by the story’s conclusion.

What’s Next for Naruto?

Interestingly, the Naruto series didn’t reach its conclusion by any stretch of the imagination. Instead, it has been carried forward with an official sequel titled Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. This manga is a collaborative effort between Mikio Ikemoto for illustration and Kishimoto for story supervision, focusing on Naruto’s son, Boruto Uzumaki. As Boruto grapples with his own set of challenges, the story has progressed to such an extent that it has now spawned its own sequel series, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. You can catch up on all these developments through either Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library or Sheuisha’s MangaPlus service.

Regarding Naruto, it’s busy preparing for its 20th anniversary celebrations. In store is a comeback of the original Naruto anime with four unique episodes, which will send Team 7 on an unprecedented mission within the franchise. The manga has not disclosed any grand plans for this milestone as of now, but given the size of the franchise, this video might be just one of many anniversary celebrations that Naruto will have for this significant event.
