In simple terms, we’ve reached the conclusion of the fourth installment of “Grace,” offering both us viewers and Roy some resolution to the series’ longest-lasting enigma.
After many long years, John Simm’s character, Roy, met his missing wife, Sandy, again. This encounter provided him with a measure of resolution regarding their situation. Yet, this reunion was not without its heavy cost.
Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that we said goodbye to Norman in the series, as actor Craig Parkinson decided not to return for season 5. Interestingly, his character remained with the team, implying that Parkinson made his decision after the filming of the episodes had been completed.
Regardless, the series continues, as a fifth season has already been approved. However, fans are left wondering when they’ll get to watch it.

When will Grace season 5 be released?
The fifth season of Grace hasn’t been given a release date as of now, but it was confirmed for renewal in March 2024, so fans might not have to wait much longer.
Over time, fresh installments of the series have been rolled out at a reasonable pace, appearing on ITV1 and ITVX annually. Although the specific release date for season 5 might be earlier or later in the year compared to season 4 (which premiered in September), it’s quite plausible that we can expect season 5 to debut around 2025.

What will Grace season 5 be about?
In the fifth season, Grace will take inspiration from an additional four novels penned by Peter James – namely, “Deadly Pursuits”, “Deadly Sight”, “Wanted: Dead or Alive”, and “Find Them Dead”.

Detective Roy Grace initially encounters what appears to be a simple abduction case. However, as the investigation unfolds, he delves into the shady criminal side of the city, where norms are twisted and appearances can be deceiving…
In the meantime, the book description for Dead at First Sight reveals: “A man anticipates his cherished one’s arrival at a London airport. Concurrently, a former police officer waits in a Florida Keys bar for his initial date with the woman destined to be his soulmate. These two gentlemen are on the verge of learning that they have been tricked out of nearly all their money – and that these women they believe in don’t actually exist.
During the same span of days, Detective Roy Grace is summoned to probe a supposed suicide in Brighton, but appearances deceive. As he delves deeper into the case, an attractive self-help speaker emerges. It turns out that his identity has been misused for swindling no less than eleven women online.

Ultimately, the synopsis for “Find Them Dead” goes like this: After wrapping up his assignment with London’s Metropolitan Police, Roy Grace receives information about a prominent drug lord based in Brighton. On his very first day back on the job, he is summoned to investigate a murder that initially appears senseless.
As I delved deeper into Grace’s investigation, I found myself inexorably being sucked into the sinister orbit of a remorseless drug lord standing trial. A man so cold-hearted that he wouldn’t hesitate to orchestrate the demise of anyone who stood between him and his freedom from court.
Meg Magellan serves on the jury, as her daughter’s life hangs in the balance, threatened by an unknown stranger who demands that if she wishes for her daughter to survive, it’s surprisingly straightforward. At the trial’s conclusion, all Meg needs to do is ensure the jury utters only two words… ‘Not guilty.’
Regarding the ongoing plot of the series, it’s expected that character Roy might seek out his son Bruno, who was mentioned in a letter from Sandy that he discovered following her tragic suicide.
Who will star in Grace season 5?
The majority of main characters from Grace’s fourth season are likely to reappear in the fifth installment, except for Craig Parkinson, who won’t be playing his role as Norman Potting anymore.
Before the premiere of Season 4, Parkinson revealed his choice, and although the final episode left Norman as an integral member of the group, it’s probable that we’ll discover his whereabouts when Season 5 begins.
