This holiday season, Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson are joining forces for a brand new Christmas adventure titled “Red One“. Directed by Jake Kasdan, who brought us “Jumanji“, “Red One” is an action-comedy that infuses the excitement of typical superhero films into the snowy landscape of the North Pole. The movie centers around an unconventional duo on a mission to find a Santa Claus who’s been abducted, ensuring Christmas isn’t cancelled!
Before “Red One” officially hits cinemas on November 15th, Amazon MGM is kicking off celebrations early by launching their promotional campaign as early as October. On Sunday night, they unveiled the second trailer for “Red One,” providing a few more humorous moments, additional action scenes, and offering viewers a clearer glimpse of what to expect from the film. In the movie titled “Red One“, Johnson embodies Callum Drift, leader of the E.L.F. Task Force, whose duty is locating Santa Claus after he’s been abducted. Evans portrays Jake O’Malley, a renowned tracker and a “Level Four Naughty Lister,” compelled to aid Drift and his team in their pursuit. The cast also includes Lucy Liu as Zoe, who enlists Drift for the mission, and J.K. Simmons takes on the role of St. Nicholas himself.
The movie titled “Red One” was directed by Jake Kasdan, who is known for directing “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle“. The script was written by Chris Morgan, famous for his work on “Fast & Furious“.
It seems that Evans has long desired to act in a Christmas film, and this year, it appears he’ll get the chance as it will mark his debut in such a production.
Evans once expressed that despite his lengthy career in the industry, a Christmas movie had never been presented to him before. He added, “They occasionally happen, but they’ve never been something I’ve encountered. So when this one came along, I felt compelled to accept it. I just couldn’t say no. Dwayne is simply amazing – he’s so kind, immensely talented, and exceptionally funny. His charisma is undeniable, and he truly excels in what he does. The director, Jake Kasdan, is fantastic as well, and the script is genuinely hilarious.
Evans went on to say, “I felt like I had to seize this chance,” he added. “And let me tell you, it was incredible. It was one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. Initially, I was concerned that it might spoil Christmas for me because it holds such significance. ‘Would I truly want to see my face every Christmas?’ But trust me, each day felt like Christmas, and when it ended, I was really sad. Honestly, I couldn’t get enough of it. So yes, it was a wise choice.
Red One arrives in theaters on November 15th.
