In collaboration with Oxford University, the BBC has unveiled a research initiative aimed at exploring various fan interactions and passionate expressions surrounding the show “Call the Midwife.
As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to be part of an exclusive opportunity: Dr Alice Watson is inviting ten of us to engage in a dynamic workshop at the BBC’s Broadcasting House in London. In this collaborative setting, we’ll showcase our creative pursuits inspired by the captivating series “Call the Midwife” and delve into how each of us has channeled our ardor for this beloved program.
We plan to conduct individual interviews with some fans for a unique 10-episode video blog series. This series aims to document their experiences and tales, helping us grasp why the show remains so impactful for its dedicated followers, and discover the creative, impactful, and motivational ways audiences interpret and engage with the program.
Enthusiasts of the program have an opportunity to participate themselves! They can simply head over to the BBC site and respond to a set of questions.
Contestants will additionally need to submit a two-minute video detailing their reasons for being a fan and presenting any items, artifacts, or creative works they wish to display.

Those applying to take part must be a UK resident and over the age of 18.
In a recent interview, McGann shared that this year’s special will offer the same thrill as a funfair along with the usual darker tones characteristic of Call the Midwife.
