Regardless of devoted Tokyo Ghoul fans persistently hoping for Ken Kaneki’s animated comeback over the years, no official news has surfaced about Sui Ishida’s series getting a fresh anime adaptation. For those unaware, Studio Pierrot is the production house that animated Ken’s story, known for creating anime like Naruto, Bleach, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Black Clover among others. While they have handled additional anime projects in the past, their new strategy might make revisiting Kaneki’s world somewhat challenging.
Previously, Pierrot studio chose not to keep its team overworked on continuous schedules for their anime productions. Instead, they adopted a “seasonal” method of production. This decision was made after the success of Demon Slayer and Ufotable’s approach to the Demon Slayer Corps. Consequently, franchises like Naruto and Black Clover have not been given new release dates or even started on new projects such as a Tokyo Ghoul comeback because Pierrot has opted to spend more time on productions like Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
