As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with a soft spot for Marvel characters, I can hardly contain my excitement over Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan‘s upcoming collaboration, “Sinners.” Having followed their incredible journey together since “Fruitvale Station,” I’ve eagerly anticipated each new project they’ve tackled, including the iconic “Black Panther” franchise.

Get ready, as the first glimpse of Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan’s much-awaited vampire film is just around the corner! Ever since its initial announcement, details about this project have been scarce, with only the knowledge that it centers around a vampire hunter in the Southern region. We don’t know exactly when the first trailer for “Sinners” will be released online, but it will give us our initial peek into the latest collaboration between Coogler and Jordan. So far, Jordan has been a part of every single film directed by Coogler. He played key roles in “Fruitvale Station,” “Creed,” and “Black Panther,” and made a surprise appearance in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

It’s clear that for the movie Sinners, Jordan will be working alongside a stellar ensemble. In addition to Jordan, the cast features Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Li Jun Li, and Delroy Lindo. At this point, specific roles haven’t been revealed yet, but there are whispers that Jordan might be portraying twins in the film.

There’s been quite a bit of discussion recently linking the concept of ‘Sinners’ to the Marvel Comics character Blade, particularly the Black vampire hunter. However, many of these comparisons might simply be due to timing, as ‘Sinners’ was first announced during the period when news about the reboot of Blade, which has been facing numerous obstacles for years (including creative disagreements and industry-wide strikes), was dominating headlines. Despite these challenges, Mahershala Ali continues to be attached to play the lead role in ‘Blade’, but the project itself hasn’t yet taken flight.

During that time period, one of the top directors from Marvel Studios collaborated with a previous Marvel actor to produce a movie at a competing studio, which left many people thinking this was akin to Coogler and Jordan creating their unique take on Blade. However, it’s uncertain how closely their film will resemble Marvel’s Daywalker in terms of DNA.

Sinners is being released in theaters on March 7, 2025.
